Evelyn’s P.O.V.

That unending path to the entrance gate led me to the infinite darkness, I switched on the torchlight of my mobile and followed the road.

“Screw you, Aaron. Why didn’t you take the straight road to the Castle?”

Walking in circles numbed legs, my feet started aching badly. I picked up a stone from the ground and marked the trees, but none of them was repeated to prove my theory.

“To the left!”

Eventually, I found myself on the same crossroad from where Aaron instructed his driver.

“I have done it.”

Just five more minutes and I would be out of this dead canyon. The lights of the iron gates could be seen from afar, the hopes of the future fueled my enthusiasm. The guard on the side of the gate was sleeping on his chair, I stepped forward cautiously to search for the key in his pocket.
