My eyes wandered from one corner of a street to another, the absence of the blood inside the pack was a sign of relief. It could only mean that the intruders hadn’t started massive killing. So this gathering must be a formal ceremony for introduction.

I removed my coat and undid the buttons for any one-on-one combat. That was my pack, and it was my responsibility to protect it. The idea of failure was already dampening my soul.

“They must be rogues, Zuriel! Sneaky bastards!”

Zev’s reminder hinted towards Gamma Jason’s reports, a part of my soul was hopeful to strike a deal with the attackers.

My pack’s finance was solely in my hand, the duty of taking care of the entire population wouldn’t be in the favor of homeless rogues. Perhaps, they would agree to leaving in exchange for a hefty amount of money.

With these thoughts swirling in my mind, I carefully approached my pack’s ground, a familiar voice wrinkled my forehead in surprise.
