Evelyn’s P.O.V.

“A sister?”

I was taken aback by this sudden onslaught hurled on me, but Eddie’s question gave me enough courage to discuss Walter’s issue with him.

“A newborn sister would need extra care, and you’ll have to wait before she finally becomes able to play with you.

What about Bex as your permanent sister? We can be a family with uncle Walter and his daughter.”

My cautious approach was difficult to comprehend for Eddie, he knitted his brow.

“Uncle Walter is your friend. How can we be family, mommy?”

Why was this challenging to explain normal things to a child? I sighed and fiddled with my sleeves, avoiding eye-contact with my own child.

“Uncle Walter wants to be my husband, then Bex and you’ll be brother-sister.”

“No!”

Eddie gasped, not believing his supernatural hearing. The mobile phone from his hand landed on the bed, he narrowed his eyes.

“Are you divorcing my daddy? But it’s impossible, mommy.”

His firm belief shook my confidence, I calmed my racing heart and asked.
