Chapter 3

Shocked by his son's attitude, he tried to take him from her again but the boy did the same.

As Rose noticed that they seem to not get along well, she slowly let him down and lowered herself to his height.

"Little darling, is that your father?"

The boy raised his head and stared at his father for a few seconds. It occurred to him to deny so that pretty lady will take him home with her but he decided against it and grumpily nodded his head.

Rose couldn't help but smile upon seeing the little boy's reaction. She softly pinched his cheeks as she cooed. "You are so adorable. How are you so cute?"

Happy that he was being complimented by her, Timothy soon found his cheeks going red as he pursed his lips to prevent a smile. He nods his head, accepting her compliment and softly reaching his hand out to tug at her sleeve. He pouts his cheek and moves even closer to her.

"Oh…sweetie.." she got on her feet as she grabbed the little boy's hand and faced his father. "It seems your son doesn't want to go with you."

Zeke released a sigh and stared at the beautiful young lady. Her face was petite and she had the type of nose that looked arrogant. Her lips were love shaped and her jet black hair was probably reaching down to her waist. Her eyes, black and shining, seemed like a sea of mystery. He could see why little Timothy didn't want to go with him. Even his son has a great eye for women. "Yes. Timothy can be very troublesome sometimes." He managed to say, accessing her features once again.

For some reason, he felt as though he had met her before.

"Timothy? Your name is Timothy?" She asked, staring down at the little boy who was staring at her. "That is so cute. You are very handsome and you have a cute name too." She pinched his cheeks again feeling herself drawn to the boy. "Aren't you an adorable le little boy."

Timothy managed a small smile and patted his cheeks. His whole face was already red but he didn't care. He likes this young lady and doesn't want to leave her alone. Removing his hand from her grip, he walked to his father and tapped the tall man.

"What now?" Zeke asks, lowering his head to properly stare at his son.

The little boy glanced at Rose and then at his dad. His eyes seem to speak a lot of words and Rose was shocked when the man straightened his back and blatantly said to his son.

"No."

He puffed his cheek and stared at Rose again.

"No Timothy. You can't have that."

"What is he saying?"

"He wants you to come with him." He honestly tells Rose and watches her surprised reaction. If he weren't a supernatural being, he would have considered his son's request. There was no harm in making his son happy for a few days till he grew tired of her face and finally asked for her to be sent off.

But a werewolf having a human around him, he couldn't even dare to think about the rumors that would begin to circulate among his pack. First he has a son whose mother he didn't know and then he is keeping a human by his side. No way he would put a stranger in danger just to satisfy his son.

His son tugged at his pants and stared at him with huge round eyes.

"No. You can't." He then tried to carry his son but the stubborn one sat on the floor and started throwing his legs around.

Seeing the tantrum he was throwing, Rose was more than shocked. She quickly picked the boy up and patted his back. "Sweetheart, what your dad is trying to say by telling you no is that auntie has a lot of work and auntie can't come with you. If I leave with you and skip work, my manager and boss will nag at me." She pretended to be sad and continued. "Auntie is so pitiful. Aunti needs handsome Timothy to understand and listen to dad, okay?"

The boy stared at her sad eyes and gently nods his head. Although it was obvious from the look in his eyes that he didn't like what was happening.

She handed him over to his father and patted his soft hair. Rose couldn't bear to leave him with such a sad look so she reached into her pocket and brought out a paper and pen. "But because auntie likes sweetheart as much as he likes her, auntie will write out her number for him." She scribbled her number on paper and added a love sign at the end. She then gives it to him. "You can call me anytime you want, okay?"

Timothy bods his head as he stared at the piece of paper like his life depended on it. He kept it in the small pocket of his shirt and hugged his father's neck, meaning that he was willing to go with his dad now.

Zeke couldn't believe that all it took to stop him from being stubborn were the lady's phone number and her sweet words. "Thank you for being considerate of my son."

"No problem. He is very adorable and I like him. By the way, auntie's name is Rose. Rose, like the beautiful red flower Rose." She tells Timothy in a childlike voice as she smiles at him.

Zeke felt a little uncomfortable because she wasn't paying him much attention. In the past few years, women usually pretended to like his son all so they could get close to him but here she is, ignoring him and focusing on his son.

Rose bade them goodbye and reminded Timothy that she would be expecting his call.

Once they got to the hotel, Zeke sat his son on the chair and began speaking to him like he was an adult.

"Timothy, what you did today was very dangerous and I don't want you trying it again. Running around the human city is dangerous for werewolves like us. Promise me you won't do it again."

Timothy didn't seem to like what his father was saying. He bared his fangs at his father, his cute eyes had turned gold, his ears were elf like and his claws, ready to attack. He wouldn't hesitate to attack anyone who tells him not to see the pretty lady again.

When the older man simply face palmed himself, he grabbed his father's phone and brought out the paper he had kept in his shirt, then dialed the number and waited as it rang for some seconds.

"Hello…" Rose answered. "Who is on the line?"

Timothy tapped the screen just to see it light up and smiled at it. It was a pity he couldn't talk.

Rose kept quiet for about a minute before asking. "Timothy? Timothy sweetie is that you? Please tap the screen twice if that is you."

Excited that she knew it was him, he placed the phone on the floor and laid beside it as he tapped the screen twice.

"Oh sweetheart, you called. That is so nice. I hope you got home safely? Don't run around and let your dad worry okay? Be a good boy. Although I know you are a lovely boy. It is late and handsome kids should always go to bed early. Send my regards to your dad and have your beauty sleep. Okay?"

He tapped the screen again.

"Good boy. Take care. I will talk to you later."

After he hung up, he returned the phone to his father who had watched how the conversation went. He then gave his pinky finger to his father.

Zeke shakes his head and makes a promise sign with his son. "After talking to her, you now want to promise you won't run around again?" As he was about to address that his son was being unfair to him by listening to the lady he met a few hours ago and not him, his Beta walked in.

"I heard little Timothy threw another tantrum." He says leaning down to pat the boy's head.

"I can't seem to understand little kids. The young lady spoke sweetly to him and now he is very docile and is listening to everything she is saying." He released a sigh and poured some water into a glass cup.

"Young lady? Which young lady?" His Beta asked, taking a seat opposite him while Timothy picked his father's phone to play with.

Zeke then began to narrate everything that happened to him. When he was done, he was surprised to see that his Beta was holding back his laughter.

"What is so funny?'

"The fact that Timothy seems to like the young lady more. Meanwhile, he doesn't really like you, whom he has spent over three years with."

Zeke glared at his Beta who quickly kept his mouth shut and bowed his head. "Is it funny? Do you find it entertaining?"

Joey quickly rose to his feet and apologized. "I am sorry." He then watched as the Alpha stared at his son who was just staring at the lady's phone number on his phone. "It is the first time we have seen Timothy look so happy. If I may dare to say, why don't you live temporarily here in the human city and invite this young lady to live with you?"

It sounded like a ridiculous idea but if it would mean that Timothy would be willing to open up to him more, there was nothing he wouldn't do.

"It sounds plausible but the human…"

"I don't think it is anything you can't handle. You learn how to deal with a child from her while keeping your son happy. It is a win." Joey explains, smiling when he saw Timothy softly smiling at the lady's number.

After his Beta left and he had successfully tucked Timothy into bed, he sat at the table with a glass of wine in his hands as he let his mind drift to the thoughts of the young lady.

"Rose." He repeats trying to remember if he had seen her anywhere. But he didn't even have anyone with the name Rose in his life. Why then does she feel so familiar? Even her scent, he never forgets a scent but he can't seem to recollect where he smelled her scent. As the night got darker, he found himself thinking more about the young lady.
