Chapter 4

Dawn's P.O.V

"You're lying" He replied but I could tell he was a little shocked by this new announcement "His PA said he's out of town" "Well apparently not. And he doesn't have a PA. It must have been his receptionist. He sometimes asked them to fill in for the job." I replied and I could see his face harden.

"Very well. If that's true lets go to his office right now. I'm sure seeing as you are his girlfriend he wouldn't mind you showing up unexpected." Ash said in a cold voice I was getting accustomed to but that didn't mean I liked it.

"How many times do I have to tell you he's not my-" Ash suddenly raised his hand up "I don't want to hear it. Gather your stuff and give me your mobile, we're leaving."

"Why should I give you my mobile?" I asked just as he was about to leave "So that I'm sure you haven't called him there last minute." I sighed and handed him my mobile.

I picked my lunchbox and followed Ash out of my office. He looked at the lunchbox in my hand and raised his eyebrows at me. "What? His office is a good half an hour away. I'm not going to starve myself." I replied to his unasked question and headed towards the elevator "You coming or what?" I asked as I looked over my shoulder to see him standing in the same position. On hearing my voice his head jerked towards me and he nodded.

"Good afternoon Sophia! How are ya?" I asked the receptionist as we entered Nick's office "Good afternoon Dawn. I'm good you?" Sophia asked, she was a woman in her late 20's and has been working for Nick ever since he started his business so we knew each other quiet well.

"I'm good how are your children?" I replied "They are good too. The youngest one just started school" "That's good. Is Nick free right now?" I asked and she thought about it for a while "Mr. Williams's is in a meeting with Mr. Davis right now" I grinned and from the corner of my eye I saw Ash giving me a suspicious glance "They are alone right? I mean the other board members aren't there or they are?" At this Sophia shook her head "They're alone right now".

"Okay. Thanks Sophia! See you later sometime!" I said and started going towards the elevator.

Ash turned to me "Mr. Davis as in Vincent Davis?" He asked and I nodded "You know him?" Ash shook his head "I've heard that he's good at what he does" "He is." I said and we spent the rest of the journey in silence.

As the elevator doors opened I headed towards the conference hall and raised my hand to knock when I suddenly changed my mind and and turned the handle "Hello peoples!" I shouted and entered the conference room just in time to see someone hide under the desk.

Nick's P.O.V

"Hey Ashley? Could you come up here please?" I asked through the telecom and after hearing a confirmation I sat back on my chair. I've got to do something about Ash. He can't keep treating my little sister like that.

Plus the deal I've been putting off for later is just adding more pressure to him whose putting the same amount of pressure on Dawn.

I sighed and ruffled my hair like I've been doing since high school. I heard a knock on the door and saw Ashley's head come in "You called?" I nodded and she entered the office.

Ashley was about my age with brown hair a little darker shade of mine. Her eyes were were the shade of brown which reminded me of my favorite chocolate "I need a favor from you" I told her and invited her to take seat in front of me "What kind of a favor?" She asked. She had a hint of Irish accent in her voice but it was barely just there "The usual kind.

I have a meeting with Vincent after 10 minutes and need a fill in for my missing PA" I said feigning a sigh and saw her mouth tilt upwards into a small smile "No problem."

"So I was just saying that we cou-" "Hello peoples!" I heard someone enter and I didn't even have to see who it was. Suddenly Ashley jumped under the table and I looked at her confused but she shook her head telling me to look away.

"Dawn!" Vincent shouted and hugged her "What are you doing here?" Vincent asked still hugging her and I could hear her mumble a reply as her head was pushed against Vincent's chest "Vincent let her breathe" I said getting up from my chair but stopped short when a raven head entered behind her.

"Ash." I said through closed teeth and saw Ashley's eyes widen from the corner of my eye "So, you were telling the truth after all" He replied looking at me but I knew he was speaking to Dawn "I told you I was. I have no reason to lie" Ash turned to her and I took the opportunity to look at Ashley with raised eyebrows silently asking 'What?' and she pointed to her phone. I got mine out and soon received a text

From Ashley:

Remember I told you I have a brother who doesn't want me to work at all?

I nodded

From Ashley:

Well Ash is that brother.

Damn. Ashley Ketchum. I knew that was her surname but I didn't know that she's his sister. I mean how many Ash's are there in the world? While thinking this over I received another text.

From Ashley:

I can tell you don't like my brother but you won't fire me because I'm his sister would you?

I decided to text back

To Ashley:

Of course not. It's not your fault that he's your brother. You're a brilliant receptionist and a brilliant temporary PA too. Its his loss he doesn't have you in his company.

I sent the message and saw her smile after reading it and I smiled too "Watcha smiling about curly?" I looked up to see Dawn standing in front of me "Nothing Dawn. Just remembered something amusing" I saw her eyes looking down but I shook my head telling her not to say a word but in that moment I forgot I didn't warn Vincent.

"Hey Ashley! Why are you hiding?" Double damn! I closed my eyes and rested my hands over them "Ashley?" I heard Ash ask but I quickly interrupted "Yes Ashley. Ashley Garcia. My other receptionist. She's gone to get us coffee. And she left when you three were talking" I added as Vincent opened his mouth to protest.

I saw Ash look around my office and then he suddenly froze. He looked at me or specifically at the table "Ashley Ketchum! Come out now this instant!" He suddenly shouted pointing at the table and I saw Ashley wince.

"Hey! This is MY office. You can't just barge in here and shout at random things!" I said getting up from my seat "Why not? You did the same an hour ago" He retorted "I didn't barge into your meeting did I? And I didn't shout!" I said and saw him glare at me.

"Sir I think its time we went back to your office. A lot has left to be done." Dawn interrupted and Ash glared at her "Don't tell me what to do!" Ash said in a cold voice and Dawn glared at him "I will when you're being irrational! The work you gave me this morning won't be finished if we don't leave and I won't be taking it home with me!" She added as Ash opened his mouth.

"Work at home?" Vincent asked and I nodded "A good load of work at that. I was astounded at the amount of papers stacked on her desk when I went to give her lunch" I said and saw Vincent's eye widen because he's seen the amount of work I have to handle everyday and I must say its a lot.

Vincent suddenly glared at Ash "Our Dawn is not a robot you know! She already comes home exhausted to death!" He exclaimed and Ash's eyes narrowed "Comes home? You live together?" "Yes we do" I said pointing that we three lived together and his gaze narrowed at Dawn "So you live with two guys like complete slut?" Ash said but before Vincent or I could say anything a new voice exploded.

"Don't you dare talk about her like that Ash!" Ashley suddenly stood up.
