Chapter 5

Mrs Gilbert and Sonia were having a conversation in the sitting room, and suddenly Sonia stood up.

"No, I can't especially when Mr Anthony is living here also, I don't want to be punished, he is such an arrogant fool." Sonia objected quickly, she covered her mouth when she realized what she had said. Mrs Gilbert gave her the really look.

"Do you realize you are talking about my son?" Mrs Gilbert reminded, narrowing her eyes at Sonia.

"I am very..."

"Mom, you've given her a lot of chances to insult me." Anthony cut her off before she could finish the sentence. He climbed down the remaining stairs and walked to where Sonia was. Sonia looked away immediately.

"Mom, look at the way she insulted me before she even started living here, I should have dealt with her here but I am restricting myself because of you Mom, next time she tries that then she would see the other side of me." Anthony warned and walked away.

"If I ever hear you say that or insult him, then I will have to punish you myself." Mrs Gilbert warned silently.

"I am very sorry Ma'am, it was a slip of tongue, I promise you that I won't do that again." Sonia apologized immediately.

"That's better, my driver will take you to your place in order to pack all the necessary things you would be needing." Mrs Gilbert said, walking to the dining table.

"I don't have any choice than to do this." Sonia muttered with a frown on her face. Mrs Gilbert turned when she still felt the presence of Sonia.

"The driver is waiting for you outside already, don't take too long before you come back." Mrs Gilbert said, Sonia bowed and headed outside.

Mrs Gilbert faced the dining table, she continued eating Adam and Nancy while having a conversation while Andrew and Anthony stayed quiet...

She knew Anthony wasn't happy about it but he has to accept it because she would be traveling and she wants someone who can take care of Nancy.

"Tony, I have a reason for doing that and it will be beneficial to us." She tried to explain. His mother is the only person that calls him that.

"Then get another nanny, it is not a must you employ her as her nanny." Anthony snapped.

"You shouldn't be the one saying this right now, you knew what the previous nanny cost us."

"If that is the case then you should stop employing Nanny, at least you are Nancy's mother and not the nanny." Anthony yelled.

"Big brother, I don't think there is something wrong in employing Sonia, she is very calm, intelligent and gentle, Nancy even liked her, you know when Nancy loves someone, she will never let go." Andrew spoke up and continued eating. Anthony got angry with what he said, he got up angrily and banged the table.

"You don't tell me what to do and how to do it, just shut your filthy mouth and continue eating." Anthony yelled and pointed at him while saying that.

"I am done here." Anthony added then he walked out, Mrs Gilbert cupped her face into her palms.

"I think I will have to let Sonia go, I will look for another nanny." Mrs Gilbert said.

"Mom, don't worry about it, Sonia must stay and nothing must change that." Andrew spoke again, Adam and Mrs Gilbert exchanged glares, that would be the first time Andrew would be supporting someone like that.

"Mom, what Andrew said was true, we must let Sonia stay." Adam supported.

"Okay, I have heard you all, Sonia will stay but what about Anthony he is going to make that ..."

"Mom, you worry too much. My big brothers assured you that everything will be fine, Mom doubts aren't good." Nancy advised.

"It's okay now, let's continue eating while I go prepare the room where she will stay in." Mrs Gilbert said, she stood up and went upstairs.

"I will make sure I make life miserable for her so that she would be forced to leave this house." Anthony muttered underneath as he walked... The driver opened the door when he spotted Anthony from a distance.

"Good morning sir." The driver greeted. He knew Anthony would never reply to him but he had to greet anyways.

"Are you still in need of this job?." Anthony asked.

"I am very sorry Sir." The driver apologized, he shut the door and jumped into the driver's seat, within a few seconds the car zoomed off.

Sonia unlocked her door, she was about to go in when she saw the driver wanted to go in with her, she turned.

"Please wait here Sir, I will be back with my belongings." She said with a smile, the driver nodded and went to lean against the car while Sonia went in.

She quickly went to where she kept her phone, she brought it out and dialed Mike's number, he picked at the second ring.

"Good morning Mike, please I need your help." Sonia rushed the words.

"Yes, tell me what it is?."

"My boss said I should come live with them, so I want you to come here, so that you can pack all my important stuff back home."

"Don't you think that is awkward?." Mike asked, Sonia sat on the bed.

"I also thought as much but I had to. I think I will be having a change of plan now."

"Why did you say that?."

"I don't think any of them are going to date me, so I will just stay there to have a taste of poverty a little, maybe that would help me in getting a great husband in the future." Sonia concluded with a sigh.

"Wish you luck on whatever you chose to do, I will come tomorrow to do as you've said, please keep a note for me." Mike said.

"Okay, I have to go now, the driver is waiting for me, bye." Sonia said, she hung up

She started arranging her bags, she kept all the important files, documents and other stuff, after she was done with that, she wrote a note to Mike.

Sonia picked up the two bags she packed and started walking out, she stopped abruptly and looked back.

"Sonia, be strong and be as humble as you can." She encouraged herself, faced the front and walked out of the house.

"Let's leave." She said from behind, the driver turned and he assisted her with the bags. He opened the door for her and she went in with a heavy heart.
