Myra's P.O.V

"Stop overthinking," he murmured, his voice sounding deep and sinfully tempting.

His face slowly drew closer to mine, and I did not pull back; I did the very opposite by inching closer to him. When our lips met, it felt like an electric spark, the kind that gave a hint of excitement and vulnerability at the same time.

His arms wrapped around my waist, and he pressed me against his body, while my fingers locked into his hair.

As the kiss deepened, the cool rush of mint from his mouth clouded my tongue.

Beneath it lingered something warm and faintly sweet, like dark chocolate. That made me press closer, craving more of that intoxicating mix.

"Um, Jade... sir," a woman said from behind Jade.

My eyes snapped open and, like a trance cut off, I broke the kiss. Jade's arms still held me firmly, like he wasn't ready to let go.

His frame was blocking my view, so I couldn't see the woman who had spoken.

"Did you forget how to knock?" Jade snapped.

"I'm sorry. I knocked but no one answered," she explained nervously.

Had we been so engrossed in the kiss that we suddenly blocked out everything else? I didn't even hear when she came in.

"What is it, Phoebe?" Jade asked, a heavy hint of irritation in his voice.

"There's a man here to see you. He's just," she began.

"Good evening, Mr. Dantrix. I don't mean to intrude, but we have business to discuss," a male voice said, cutting the woman off.

Every muscle in me went rigid.

That voice. I knew that familiar voice.

Jade sighed as he pulled away from me and turned around.

"Vincent Cross, we don't have an appointment till tomorrow," Jade countered firmly.

It felt like ice water had been poured on me as Vincent's eyes locked with mine.

The shock on his face didn't last long. His gaze snapped back towards Jade.

"I apologize for the sudden, unannounced appearance," Vincent said, though he didn't sound the least bit apologetic.

I'd been married to the man for six years and known him for ten. I knew when Vincent wasn't feeling remorse.

"My manager will escort you to my office. I will be with you momentarily," Jade said, his tone stiff.

Vincent simply nodded and left with the woman.

Just like that? Why didn't he say anything?

"I need to attend to that guy," Jade's voice snapped me from my thoughts. "I'm sorry about tonight. This is not how I planned for things to go."

"Nothing's ruined yet. Just finish up your business. I'll be here waiting," I replied, as I brushed past him and went to sit on one of the plush leather sofas.

Jade stood for a few seconds longer, his gaze lingering on me with genuine concern, before he finally turned and left. I let out a long, shaky breath the moment I was completely alone.

I'd been so incredibly tense that my shoulders actually throbbed.

If Jade had been staring directly at my face when I first saw Vincent, he easily could have realized that we had history with each other.

My heart continued to hammer wildly against my ribs as I leaned my head back against the soft leather cushions, trying to calm my frayed nerves.

I sat there all by myself for the next long ten minutes. The luxurious room must be completely soundproof because I couldn't hear a single thing from the chaotic, rowdy club downstairs.

The absence of noise felt like a thick absence, making the ticking of my own thoughts sounded much louder as I wondered why on earth Vincent had picked this very night to come here.

What demon was controlling the man's thought.

Eventually I got pressed and had to pee. There was a clean, private restroom attached to the lounge, so I simply used it.

After washing my hands thoroughly with the lavender-scented soap, I stood in front of the large mirror and tried to carefully retouch my faded lipgloss.

I suddenly heard the heavy lounge door click open, and I smiled at the immediate thought of Jade having returned so quickly.

I quickly finished up, throwing the gloss back into my small purse, and stepped out into the main room. But when I did, the remaining heat completely drained from my face.

"Congratulations, Myra. I really didn't think you had it in you," Vincent stared me down from my head to my toes, his jaw clenched tightly with a dark, furious expression. "Barely a month after our divorce and you're out here, fucking Jade Dantrix."

  • The Billionaire Biker's Plus Size Obsession   Tethered To Her

Jade's P.O.VDespite how far the night had gone from my original plan, things finally seemed to be going smoothly. Myra and I were having our drinks and carrying on a normal conversation.I asked a few simple, surface-level questions, trying to get a better idea of who she was outside the office.I now knew that her favorite color was red, she was allergic to fish, and that her favorite season was winter.I had never really had a favorite season before, but I was seriously beginning to think winter could become mine.“You still haven't told me how you got my address and phone number,” Myra said in the middle of our conversation as she took another sip of her iced peach tea.“Your phone number was already on the company's employee list. As for your address, well...” I paused, a small smile tugging at my lips. “You could say I stalked you.”Her brows furrowed. “You stalked me?”“Yeah.” I leaned back slightly, watching the subtle way her expression shifted. “After your third day at the o

Myra's P.O.VMy fist clenched.I simply stared at Vincent, trying to decide whether I had heard him clearly or not."Excuse me?"He took another step toward me, his expression darkening. "You heard me clearly," he said. "Or would you like me to repeat what I said?"The audacity of the man almost made me want to laugh. Who exactly did Vincent think he was?"You came into this private lounge unannounced, and that's the first thing you chose to say to me.""Are you trying to deny it?" he asked, his eyes narrowing. "You expect me to believe there's nothing going on between you two?"I folded my arms across my chest, refusing to let his accusation or irritating presence get under my skin. I was already boiling on the inside, and one more idiotic thing from him was going to make me snap."Is that jealousy I sense from you, Vincent?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. His jaw hardened even further. I was almost certain his teeth were beginning to ache from how tightly he was clenching them."

Myra's P.O.VIt was Jade's voice. I looked across the pavement over at him, and he had his phone pressed tightly to his ear, a smug smirk resting on his face.I immediately ended the call and walked over to where he stood."How did you get my phone number, Jade?" I asked, crossing my arms.He shrugged casually, a glint of amusement in his eyes."I'll tell you when we get to where we're going," he replied smoothly. He shoved his phone into his pocket and handed me a heavy black helmet."Put this on."Despite my unanswered question, I took the helmet from his hands and slid it over my head, carefully fastening the chin straps into the buckle until it clicked securely. He pulled on his own helmet and swung his leg over the seat, getting onto the bike."Hop on, my lady," he said, turning the key.I crossed my leg over the leather seat and sat down directly behind him. I was a bit hesitant to hold onto his waist, but the exact second the engine roared to life with a violent shudder, I

Myra's P.O.V"...and that concludes everything for the week, Mr. Dantrix," I said, holding the iPad down as I finished the full run-through of the office schedule. It was apparently something Jade liked to do every Friday before he closed for the day. He preferred to go through the week's activities to see how he could improve his schedule for the next week."Thank you, Myra," Jade muttered, giving his leather chair a single, smooth spin. "Finally, I can start enjoying my weekend effective immediately."He seemed to be in a very good mood today. I was tempted to ask him what had put him in such a fine spirit, but I quickly suppressed my curiosity."I guess that means I get to close early today, right?" I asked."Yeah, but before you leave, I should congratulate you," he said with a smile."Congratulate me for what?" I questioned, slightly confused as to what I was being rewarded for.His grin stretched even wider, pulling back to reveal a perfect set of gleaming white teeth."Fo

  • The Billionaire Biker's Plus Size Obsession   Not A Day D****e

Myra's P.O.VDuring lunch break, I decided to make a stop at the hospital. I had gone there the previous day to have a test done, and the results were probably ready by now.I'd been experiencing severe pelvic pain for the past two days, and it had only gotten worse yesterday. I had no idea what was wrong with me.At first, I assumed it was probably due to my acute hormonal imbalance, but I couldn't be certain. My doctor had insisted that I get some tests done before they could determine the cause and prescribe any treatment.Yesterday hadn't been limited to a hospital visit either. I'd also stopped by the impound compound and managed to get my car back.I tapped my heels lightly against the floor as the elevator descended toward the parking garage. When the doors slid open, I stepped into the dimly lit space and made my way toward my car.I pressed the button on my key fob, and the locks on my red Ferrari Roma clicked open. I slipped into the driver's seat, running my hands over t
