Chapter 26

There's times when the workload piles on and Elijah and I have to spend the whole night neck deep in work to meet deadlines. Tonight was one of those nights. Elijah likes to leave things for the last minute, and I get dragged down with him because the past few days we haven't necessarily been doing any work. He had tried to escape and run home but I followed him back to his house and forced him to help me meet his deadlines. 

We were sitting on the floor in one of his informal living rooms where we usually did work whenever we brought the office to his house. His office here was too cold while his home was the most comfortable since I could make myself a meal or beverage if I was hungry and I could stretch out my legs on the couch, or even sleep in one of the guest bedrooms if need be (this was when I wasn’t sleeping with him).
