Looking For Attention

Yesterday's incident really made Calista regret that she didn't pay close attention to them, today Leon didn't go to class but Giovani still attended and both of his parents had been informed about Giovani's actions to Leon.

When receiving students from parents, the one who accompanied Giovani at that time was not his father, but his own father. Giovani's expression when he just arrived looked sad and he immediately went into the classroom so that Calista could talk to the man who took him to school.

“Introducing madam, I am Sir Fernandes' assistant, father of Giovani and my name is Alvero. He couldn't come to accompany so I was ordered directly to accompany Giovani. I also heard about the child Giovani injured. If I may ask for the address of the child to convey our apologies to them." Said Alvero very kindly.

Calista immediately took Alvero to Madam Sara's room because she did not know the address of the children. Luckily, Giovani's family wanted to apologize in person, so the problem would subside.

Calista has finished escorting Alvero to madam Sara's room, she must immediately return to class to start today's lesson. upon arrival at class, Calista was surprised by the situation where all the students cried together because of Giovani's behavior. The boy threw whatever was around him so that it hit them until something hurt one of them.

“ Enough Giovanni. You can't be like that, say sorry for your friends, now. " Calista's protest shoved them all into the corner of the classroom.

"I don't like all of you." Giovani shouted and ran out of the classroom.

Calista was again forced to leave the class with Ms. Xia and went after Giovani. Calista was notified by the school janitor that she saw a boy running into the storage shed.

At this time, Calista had entered the warehouse, because it was dark and there were so many things in there, she needed light to find Giovani.

Shortly after that, there was a sound of sobbing that made Calista finally find Giovani. He was behind a pile of used cardboard boxes where he was currently curled up and sobbing.

"Giovani, come out boy." Invite Calista gently so that Giovani will hear it.

"Everyone doesn't like me, I don't want to meet them." Giovani replied, not moving from his place.

" Says who.?"

"They're all in class."

"Gio, listen up. Your friends in class will definitely want to play with you if you are not rude to them, play gently without any pressure or they won't like the way you play."

"I still hate them, teacher."

"Now follow me, you apologize to your friends. And after that they will surely forgive you, and you can play with them again.”

Finally Giovani wanted to move from there, he listened to everything Calista said and now the two of them walked together to class. Arriving at class, Ms. Xia has already made the children in the class calm down a bit.

"Thank you Ms. Xia, I will deal with them now.” Calista said then answered with a slow nod by Ms. Xia.

" Everybody, listen to me."

“ Giovani wants to apologize to you guys. Come on kid, you can apologize to all your friends now.” Calista said welcome.

" I apologize." Giovani said while lowering his face.

"We don't want to forgive a bad boy like you."

"Yeah, we don't want that."

"You are naughty and like to steal other people's toys."

Calista was surprised to hear the response from Giovani's classmates that she had never expected before. How could a child of their age be able to reply with words that were quite sarcastic like just now.

"Kids don't be like that, Giovani has kindly apologized to you." Calista replied trying to calm the atmosphere in the class.

"He better not be in this class teacher, Leon was already a victim yesterday. What if other children become the next victims.”

Calista was speechless, these children are only 5 and 6 years old but their speech is like adults. I don't know who taught them to be able to say that.

"Fine, then if you don't want to forgive Giovani then I won't give you gifts." Calista's ejection immediately made them all stare at each other.

"We want the prize, teacher." They exclaimed together.

"Then you must forgive Giovani." she continued later.

"We forgive you Giovani." Answer them back in unison.

Calista was happy to see him, little by little she began to be able to handle the class. Even though it was quite difficult, she still tried and did the best she could.

Break time for lunch started, Calista helped their students prepare their food on their respective tables. As usual, the side dishes they bring always serve high-protein foods and are good for the growth of children at their age.

At that time, Calista approached Giovani, who did not open his lunch box at all, even though the child also brought lunch from home. Calista also intended to open it and after opening it it turned out that the contents of Giovani's lunch box were only plain bread without any jam, he was not even given milk but only plain mineral water.

"What about his parents? Are vegetables and fruits expensive? Not even milk and jam in the lunch box. Hiring a bodyguard is okay, you can't provide the best food for children." Calista's mind was sad to see that.

Now Calista understands why Giovani stole his friends' food yesterday, it turns out because he brought food like that with him.

"Come on, eat the lunch." Calista said while holding out Giovani's lunch box.

" I do not want." Reject it curtly.

" Look, there is chocolate, you want to eat it if you sprinkle the bread with chocolate?" Asked Calista immediately replied with an enthusiastic nod by Giovani.

Luckily, Calista always carries cocoa powder wherever she goes, that's because Calista likes to drink coffee, where she always mixes the cocoa powder as an additional topping on top.

Thanks to Calista's chocolate, Giovani finally wants to eat his lunch with pleasure. Seeing him immediately made Calista feel sorry, even though he was a rich kid, his food menu was much cheaper than Calista's own.

"Thank you, teacher." Giovani said, instantly making Calista touched to hear it.

Calista grabbed Giovani's head while gently stroking it, she smiled with a slightly watery corner of her eyes.

"I'm sorry about the treatment your parents gave you son." Calista thought.
