Harry’s mansion*

The big TV in the living room was displaying an high school show which used to be Zara’s favorite, and on the couch directly opposite the TV was seated Zara.

Despite it being one of the shows she used to like much, she wasn’t watching it. Her gaze was fixed on it but her mind was somewhere else, thinking about someone she wasn’t supposed to.

She returned from the company and when she got bored, she decided to watch a movie at home, but she couldn’t focus.

No matter how hard she tried to deny it, she couldn’t hide the fact that Felix’s betrayal hurt her deeply.

The days they laughed together, the days they played together, his smile, his touch, his handsome face, she couldn’t deny the fact that she missed all that.

If only money could buy back time, she would have desperately looked for money to go back in time and experience all that again.

She missed him so much that it hurts. It hurts because he wasn’t who she think he was.

She ought to despise him and forget about him, but here she was thinking about him. He was living rent free in her head.

A tear slipped down her cheek and she instantly wiped it off, reminding herself that Felix didn’t worth her tears.

She sniffled and made up her mind to try to focus on the movie, distracting herself from reality.

* I love you, Zara, I really do. Do not listen to them, I’ll work hard to meet up to your standard. I’ll provide for both of us.* Those were Felix’s exact words to her when she told him about her family’s refusal to marry him.

She trusted him, and because of him she disobeyed her dad and developed hatred for him, thinking he didn’t want to see her happy because he didn’t approve of her marriage with Felix.

Realizing how stupid she was, she loathed herself for not being smart and able to detect Felix’s true intention.

She hated herself for giving Felix’s the right to use and dump her.

In frustration and annoyance, she threw the remote on her hand and it hit the TV screen in a great force.

“You do realize this isn’t your father’s house?”

A familiar voice spoke from the door’s entrance.

She stood up immediately and turned, only to find Harry leaning on the wall next to the entrance.

He was still in his suit from earlier and she guessed he came home directly from work.

She looked back at the TV and when couldn’t find any crack, she assumed it was because she was a bit far from it and couldn’t see it properly.

She looked back at him. “I’ll get you a new one.”

“When I get back my inheritance.” She added quickly, already knowing his next words.

“It’s not a regular TV.” He stated calmly, taking slow strode towards her.

When he got to where she was, his grey eyes moved around her face. He lifted her chin up and observed her eyes. “It’s so disappointing to see you crying over a guy.”

She pushed his hand off her face and sat down. “How did you…”

“You have no other reason to cry.”

She scoffed. “Whatever.”

“I contacted the gym instructor and have his flight and everything booked. He will be in California two days from now.” He informed, dragging down his tie for enough breathing space.

Zara placed her hands on her laps and a light gasp escaped her lips when she thought of something. “Do you think he wants a divorce because of how ugly and fat I’ve grown? What if he said all that just to push me away? What if he didn’t get married to me because of my family’s wealth. What if he accepts me back into his life after I’m back in shape?” She bombarded him with questions.

Harry didn’t know what to say to her at that moment. He shook his head and walked away, heading to his room.

She covered her face with her palms. “Just what if?”

*******

It was early as 8 in the morning and Zara was seen at the building entrance, properly dressed in a white and black gown and black flat shoes. She had her hair packed in a ponytail, stopping the morning breeze from blowing it all over her face.

The workers that came across her made sure to stop and greet her before continuing with what they were doing.

She sighed for the umpteenth time, and her eyes lit up when she spotted Harry coming.

As he got closer to her, his smell filled her nostrils. He smelled expensive and attractive.

“Good morning.” The words roll out her tongue, as if she was being forced to greet him.

“What is it?” He was blunt, he didn’t even stare at her for up to ten seconds before looking at his phone.

She scoffed, hating that he didn’t acknowledge her greeting.

“I’m going with you to the company.”

He looked up at her. “Why is that?”

“Nothing. I don’t want to be bored at home.”

“You can’t be seen out with me like this. You have to take your gym classes.”

“In other words, you’re ashamed to be seen with me?” She tried to hide how hurt she was but it was obvious from her voice.

“Yes.” He shoved her out of the way and walked towards the car which door was already opened.

She stood there, watching as the car drove out of the compound.

“Son of a bitch!” She yelled in annoyance.

Her phone suddenly beeped and she checked quickly to see if her dad had replied her message, and as expected he replied.

A smile lingered on her face and as she clicked the message, her brows dropped when she read the first line. Her smile disappeared in the same pace it came.

*Why would I do that? I do not have a hand in it. Stop reaching out to me!*

She didn’t want to believe her dad typed that. But then, if he wasn’t the one that persuaded the girl into making an apology video, who did? And why?

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    Her get back

The driver was resistant but he couldn’t protest. After more than thirty minutes of driving in silence, the car arrived at a tall building with sleek glass. The building exudes elegance and success, and one wouldn’t doubt before investing. The driver came to open the door for her and as she stepped out, she was hit by the cool breeze which sent her hair flying back. She found her way into the company and when she got to the reception, the receptionist bowed her head, welcoming her. With a smile on her flawless face, the receptionist spoke, “Welcome to…”“Where’s Harry’s office?” She cuts her off. The smile disappeared from the lady’s face with the same speed it came. “Excuse me, miss. You can’t just come barging into the company and asking for the CEO’s office. You have to schedule a meeting with him. Or have you? Do you have an appointment with him?” The girl questioned, trying so hard not to sound rude. Zara scoffed loudly. “I don’t need an appointment to see Harr

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    Annoyance

She dropped her phone beside her, lost in thoughts. The lady wouldn’t just wake up and decide to apologize for body shaming her, there was more to it. She picked up her phone and tried to message the lady but she found out that the account had been deactivated immediately.“Strange.” She mumbled. As she scrolled through, most of the news were talking about the lady that apologized to her. The comments under the posts were saying the lady did well by apologizing and it made her wondering. Weren’t most of the comments also body shaming her yesterday? She suddenly thought about her dad and her lips curled into a smile.“He couldn’t stand his daughter getting body shamed, despite pretending he doesn’t care about me anymore.” She giggled. She typed a thank you, letting him know she was grateful for what he did by making the girl do an apology video and she sent the message to him but he didn’t reply. She went to freshen up and changed her clothes, waiting for Harry’s return.

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    Acceptance

*Popular billionaire’s daughter, Zara Wellington, was spotted back in California with Harry woods, after being away for more than two years.* A picture of them coming out of the restaurant was displayed at the bottom of the caption. The post was made few minutes ago but it had thousands of likes already and hundreds of comments. With shaky fingers, she clicked the comments and the first comment stabbed through her heart like a sharp blade.“Is this really Zara or an imposter? She looks round like a ball.” As she scrolled through the other comments, tears bricked at the corner of her eyes. She couldn’t find a positive comment. All the comments were either mocking her about her fat body, or how unkept she looked. She quickly wiped the tears away from her eyes when she heard Harry call her name.“Are you crying?” He was engrossed on his phone earlier but he heard her sobbing and it was confusing because everything seemed fine few minutes ago.“No, I’m not.” Her voice betrayed h

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    A desperate lady

Immediately Zara heard those words, Relief washed over her. “Thank goodness.” She muttered under her breath. She almost smirked at the bodyguard who looked disappointed probably because his boss canceled the meeting, but she decided he wasn’t worth it. When he walked out of the restaurant, she exhaled. Harry also returned to his seat, which was directly opposite hers.“Thank you.” She flashed him a light smile. On a normal day, she wouldn’t be smiling at him, but she had something serious and she had to keep their little beef behind.“So what was the reason you left London?” Harry asked, as he picked a fork. Brown eyes followed the movement of the fork and when it landed on the sliced pineapple close to her, she almost yelled out, but she quickly controlled herself.“I caught my husband cheating.” She revealed. She didn’t expect Harry to show his surprise, but she also didn’t expect him to remain calm, slowly munching on the pineapple. His act was nonchalant and she wonder

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    The busy CEO

At that moment, she felt the ground should open and swallow her. She had never been embarrassed all her whole life. She lifted her head up and when her eyes came in contact with his, her fists clenched. His gaze was mocking and intimidating and if she didn’t need his help, she would have mocked him with words.“What’s all this fuss for by the way?” She asked, pointing at the helicopters.“Don’t want to be caught in traffic.” As Harry replied, his gaze was fixed on his Patek Philippe grandmaster chime wrist. “How can I help you, Mrs Zara? I can’t waste another minute standing here with you.” Zara barely heard what he said. The sound coming from the helicopters didn’t make Harry’s words audible, but she was still able to pick some from it.“Can we go to somewhere cool to talk and maybe get food? I’m hungry.” After saying those words, Zara bit her lower lip, praying not to get ridiculed by Harry. They’ve always hated each other and Harry wouldn’t care if she was hungry or not, but

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    A call for help

Felix was perplexed by her sudden boldness. His wife was never the type of woman to go against him or any of his words. Zara Wellington was known to be bold and outspoken, but while with Felix, she was another version of herself. She’d turned calm and tried to please him by doing anything he asked for. Unfortunately, all those didn’t make him fall in love with her.“I’ll get another one. Be ready to sign them, else…” He trailed off, his tone threatening. When Zara didn’t say a word, he stormed off the room. As soon as he left the room, Zara took a deep breath. It was hard holding back her tears, but she had to do it. Yes, she loved him so much, to the point of sacrificing everything for him, but now that she realized who he truly was, she would try to kill the feelings she had for him and make him pay for wasting her life.******* ‘No place like home’ Indeed, the saying wasn’t just an exaggeration. As Zara steeped out of the plane, she could feel the wave of fresh air.

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    The papers

When Zara opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the white ceiling above her head. She tried to turn, but couldn’t, and that was when she noticed the drip connected to her left hand. She tried to recall what happened and the last thing she could remember was yelling her husband’s name before she passed out. And upon waking up, she found herself in the hospital dressed in a blue long gown. The pain in her abdomen had subdued, but it was still there. She was weak, but her body felt lighter than before, like something heavy had been taken off her. Her eyes were at the verge of closing, when someone walked into the ward. The white coat worn by the lady and the stethoscope around her neck gave an hint of who she was. Zara fought back the drowsiness and tried to sit upright but couldn’t, the doctor had to help her.“How are you feeling, ma?” The lady asked.“I don’t know.” She replied, her voice unusually low. “My stomach hurts.” She noticed how the doctor’s eyes

  • The Billionaire Heiress’s Return    Caught in the act

“Thank you.” Zara muttered to the taxi driver as soon as she stepped out of the car. The man flashed her a smile and drove away, leaving her standing with the grocery bag in her hand and her big baby bump. She sighed heavily and walked to the house. When she got to the entrance door, she tried to open it with her key, but surprisingly, the door wasn’t locked. Her brows furrowed. “Did someone break in?” She muttered, as she took out her phone, ready to dial the cops number if she found anything suspicious. She only lived with her husband and they both weren’t seen at home by this time of the day. She owned a small supermarket two streets away, and her husband worked for a small firm, from seven to nine pm. She wasn’t feeling too well, so she decided to close for the day and come back home to relax. Slowly, she walked into the house, at alert. When she got far inside the house, she heard some noises coming from the room three meters away. At first, she thought she was i
