Carmen’s POV

“What are you doing here?” Chase asked harshly.

His countenance hadn’t changed much since the last time he showed me his beastly side after the tournament game, and I wondered if I was safe, being here alone with him.

“Who let you in?” He asked again before I could even find an answer.

Chase’s anger was so fierce that it burned into my skin, and I wondered why he was so pissed at me. I understood that he would be broken and upset after what happened, but taking it out on me in this manner was worrisome.

I thought that Chase wouldn’t harm me, and that there was no need to be worried or afraid of him, but with the fury in his eyes and how tense his living room was because of his annoyance, I began to rethink my choices.

“Where is Linda?” Chase went on to question me.

He was barely giving me the chance to even answer one question before he threw the next one at me.

“She is not here,” I managed to answer the last one.
