Chapter 7: Future

Stella

I was moved by what I witnessed and couldn't stop crying. Jaxon abruptly lowered the cake off the small table and walked up to me when I noticed he was perplexed.

He asked, concerned, "Stella, why are you crying? Did anything bad happen?," and I shook my head and sniffled before responding.

I cried in response, and he hugged me and caressed my back to calm me down. "This is the first time that someone surprised me on my birthday, and you're the first man who did this to me, so I went emotional."

I was joking, so he laughed and kissed my forehead. "Thank you, Jaxon. You're bothersome, I'm haggard now and you're going to make me weep. Maybe later I'll be ugly."

My heart began to beat faster once more as I was yet again stunned by what he did. To suppress my smile, I bit my lip in secret.

Hold it together, Stella. Take care of your heart and yourself.

He said that's why I reprimanded him: "You're still lovely to me, Stella. Even if you still cry there, you're still so beautiful."
