Chapter 4

Edwardo was very busy in his home office in the mansion, sorting some files. These days have been hectic for him and he hardly had a chance to attend to her own personal needs.

A servant informed her of Jude's arrival and he asked him to send Jude in. After some minutes, Jude walked in with his new found elegance and glamour showcasing how confident he had turned out to be.

Edwardo smiled at him before offering him a seat. He asked the servant that escorted Jude in to get him some snacks, the servant bowed and left.

"It has been a long time," Edwardo said with a smile, he dropped the files he was sorting and focused on Jude.

"Yes Sir, but I'm fully back," Jude replied, returning the smile.

"How is your father doing?" Edwardo asked Jude with concern before rising up from his office desk. He walked towards Jude and sat on the couch opposite the one he was sitting on.

"As busy as ever with work. He isn't yet ready to retire," Jude replied and dropped his cell phone beside him.

"Haven't you been helping him out with work?" Edwardo asked before removing the glasses he was putting on.

"No, I was never around. I was in another country all this while," Jude replied.

The servant that was asked to get him some snacks came in with a tray containing some cookies and juice.

Jude offered to take it from him and dropped it on side stool beside him. He picked up a cookie from the flat plate and put into his mouth.

"Ummn, yummy," Jude said, savoring the delicious taste of the cookies. He took another one and popped it into his mouth.

"Do you like them, I asked my cook to specially bake it for the visitors I will be having this week, and you got lucky to be one of them," Edwardo said with a bright smile, admiring how Jude was munching the cookies.

"Yes, I really got lucky. This reminds me of my favorite Cafe in the country I was before I came back. The cafe usually makes the best cookies and I don't miss having a taste of their cookies everyday," Jude said with a smiley face and popped another cookie inside her mouth.

He sipped some juice and took another cookie.

"I admire how much you eat the cookies," Edwardo gushed with admiration.

"I learned about many things from the country I had stayed all this while. I love the way the make irrelevant things so unique, and how much the value food over there. Adapting to their lifestyle was very difficult for the first few months I stayed there, but I had to let go of my boundaries and limit to embrace theirs and that's how I was able to adapt fully to their lifestyle. I love it so much and never regretted adapting it, it was their simple lifestyle that made me show you how this cookies you tag as an ordinary snacks are very valuable, and wanted everyday," Jude explained with so much joy.

"Wow, you have really changed so much from being a whimpering little boy to a confident man. I still remember how much you detested all this things. Then you cared less for ordinary things like cookies and would only eat some when you are forced to," Edwardo said, remembering the past.

"Yes, but my experience over there changed me and I'm really grateful for it. I learned to appreciate every little thing. I can now make out things from what people find useless and unproductive. I'm now so confident and can boldly take a step where it seems so difficult. I'm so happy for the real me that I discovered over there," Jude replied and popped another cookie into his mouth.

"I love it, the change is really obvious. I love your new confidence and perspectives. "How about your relationship life, who's the lucky girl," Edwardo asked and paid more attention to Jude. He really wanted to know who was in Jude's life, now that he has grown into a very confident young man.

"I'm sorry to say but none for now," Jude replied and looked at the tray beside him.

He had finished the cookies already, it was only the juice that was remaining.

"Hehe, I finished it so quick," he laughed and took the juice. He sipped from it and dropped it back.

"Do you want more? I can ask my servant to get you more cookies," Edwardo offered.

"No, its fine," Jude said dismissing the offer.

Why ain't there a lucky girl yet?" Edwardo asked diva with interest.

"I'm not very lucky with girld. I always end up dating cheats who only have a fling with me and leave afterwards. The only one that stayed had a fiance and was only there for what I had to offer. I found out about it some day and confronted her, she boldly attested to it being true with no regrets. She left me afterwards and wedded her fiance. It was the saddest moment of my life, I felt so worthless, incapable and unloved. I only recovered from it trauma when I decided to put my self first and no one else, I bounced back and ain't ready for any relationship for now until when I find the real person," Jude explained with sad eyes, but he quickly smiled after his explanation, trying to cover up his sad expression.

"It is okay cousin, you will find her soon. I'm so sorry about your experience with guys. I can still remember how much you always clung to Adam while growing up. You would never eat without him, go to school without him or play without him. I never knew you could stay so many years apart from him," Edwardo remembered.

"That's was then though, like you said earlier. I was a whimpering little boy," Jude said with a laugh.

"Yes, you really changed so much from that little boy, I love it," Edwardo eplied with a smile.

"So have you met with Adams?" Edwardo asked.

"Yes, I have. I just did yesterday," Jude said.

They discussed other things and he later left, promising to come visit again soon, he will meet with Ivy.
