Chapter 23 – New Guy

A lot of wrongs, actually.

She shivered lightly, which the man noticed.

Mel hasn’t really thought about being involved with Klyde in such a way. Sleeping with him is fine, but getting married to him? She doubts the two of them could make such a commitment. Another agreement, maybe. But she’s not exactly here for long-term. When their contract ends, she’s out of this place. She wants to explore more in life. Although she hasn’t figured out that part yet.

The other scenario, having a kid with him and divorcing after? It wasn’t really appealing to her. Two things. Firstly, she experienced being abandoned by her father, she won’t do that to her own child. Secondly, despite her unpleasant relationship with her father, her parents’ relationship was really good. They loved each other so much. When her mom died, her dad couldn’t seem to continue being a father to her alone.
