Rachel

Rachel returned home feeling dejected and disappointed. She had been looking for a job for weeks now, and this interview was her last hope. She was determined to earn the money herself and pay for her tuition fees, which were piling up every day. She couldn't afford to rely on her parents anymore. Her parents had helped her as much as they could, and she had exhausted her scholarship privileges, but she was determined to earn the money herself.

As she entered her apartment, she slumped onto the couch and let out a deep sigh. The interview had been her chance to land a job at a prestigious tech company owned by a billionaire CEO. She had spent hours preparing for the interview, researching the company, and practicing her answers. She had dressed in her best outfit, a smart gray blazer with a crisp white blouse and black slacks. She had styled her hair neatly and applied light makeup, hoping to make a good impression.

But when she arrived at the company's headquarters in the state, she was told that the interview had been called off and postponed to a later date. She was devastated. All her hard work had been for nothing. She couldn't help but feel frustrated and angry at the situation. She had been counting on this job to help her pay for her tuition fees, and now she had to continue searching for another opportunity.

Rachel felt like all her hard work had been for nothing. She had been so hopeful about this job, and now it seemed like it was slipping through her fingers. She sank down onto her couch and buried her head in her hands, feeling overwhelmed and discouraged.

However she knew that she couldn't give up, though. She was determined to find a way to make ends meet and keep working towards her goals. She took a deep breath and tried to shake off the negative thoughts that were clouding her mind.

Rachel got up and went to her bedroom; she stood in front of her closet, looking for a new shirt to wear. As she reached for one, she caught a glimpse of the stain on her blouse. The memory of the encounter with the grumpy man flooded back into her mind, and she cursed him silently.

She had been so excited about the job interview, and this man was part of the things which had ruined the day for her. He had spilled coffee all over her shirt, and then had the audacity to call her blind. She couldn't believe how rude he had been, and she hoped she never had to meet such a fellow again.

How can a person be so grumpy? With his questionable mustache; that face was imprinted in her mind. He nagged like a woman and wouldn’t admit he was wrong. Rachel sighs and tries to push the thought of him away from her mind, she knew that the real reason she was angry was because of the canceled interview, but she was still mad at Mr. Grumpy.

As she tried to take her blouse off, she struggled to get the buttons undone. She was so angry and frustrated that her hands were shaking. Finally, she managed to get the buttons undone and pulled the shirt over her head.

She tossed the blouse aside and reached for a clean one. Once again, she heard his annoying voice in her head and she scoffed. She tried to shake off the memory of the grumpy man, but it lingered in her mind. She couldn't believe how someone could be so mean and rude to a complete stranger. And what was that about buying her a new shirt? Did he think just because he had money, then he was free to do whatever he pleased?

Rachel took a deep breath and tried to focus on the positives. Looking on the bright side, she had landed an interview at a prestigious tech company, and that was something to be proud of. She had worked hard to get to that point in her quest for a good job, and she wasn't going to let one rude encounter with a stranger knock her off course or ruin it for her.

After changing out of her business attire and into something more comfortable she slumped onto her bed, feeling defeated. She knew that she needed to keep pushing forward, but it was hard. She was tired, both physically and emotionally. Can things ever get better?

She was still lying on the bed, when her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and saw that it was her friend Olivia. Of course, she knew this call would come. Olivia was like her family

"Hey, how did the interview go?" Olivia asked from the other end, with curiosity in her voice. “Tell me you crushed it!!” she screamed excitedly.

Rachel sighed. "It got postponed to next week," she replied, her voice tinged with disappointment.

"Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that.” Olivia’s voice went low. “But don't give up hope, Rachel. You're amazing and you're going to nail that interview when the time comes. I am sure of that."

Rachel smiled at her friend's words of encouragement. Olivia had always been her biggest cheerleader, and she was grateful to have her in her life.

"Thanks, Olivia. I really appreciate your support."

"No problem, girl. Hey, why don't you come over tonight? We're having a girls' night, and I think you could use some relaxation and fun. We'll have some wine; watch some movies, and just chill."

Rachel hesitated for a moment. She wasn't really in the mood to socialize, but she knew that Olivia was right. She needed to take her mind off the interview and the grumpy man. Damn!! Of course Mr. Grumpy but yet attractive looking, she was still thinking of him!!

"Okay, I'll come over. What time should I be there?" she asked.

"7 pm. Can't wait to see you, girl."

As Rachel hung up the phone, she felt a sense of relief wash over her. She was grateful for her friend's offer and knew that it would do her good to take a break and relax.

She spent the rest of the day preparing for the evening. She picked out a comfortable outfit, put on some makeup, and made sure to bring a bottle of wine for the girls' night. From previous times, she knew that it was going to be a lot of fun; they would get drunk and gossip about people. Maybe that was just what she needed to get over the disappointment of today, and of course… she would tell the group about the grumpy man she met today.
