“You did well.” My grandfather’s voice pulled me from my thoughts a couple of hours into the party.

Currently, Andrew and Veronica were playing with the puppy in Andrew’s new room. Rick already left to go to the bar and Lily also left to take care of her shift at the hospital. Overall, the party has already died down.

I was cleaning the place up, trying to get it back in order. I had thought my grandfather was still in Andrew’s bedroom with them, so I had been by myself. While I was cleaning, I had been thinking about how good it was that both Andrew and Lily were in my life.

Placing the plate of leftovers in the fridge, I turned to see my grandfather sitting at the kitchen table. I wasn’t sure how long he had been sitting there because I had been spaced out. Closing the fridge, I walked over to join him at the table.
