Diana?

I was just as confused as the handsome guy and the woman who sat at the front seat of the car. I caught sight of the driver peeking too and it made me scared for a minute.

Were they thieves? Or did I jump into the bad guys den?

But they looked well off to be thieves or any bad person. My heart thumped gently as I met his eyes.

"What?" I managed to ask.

***

Whoever these two were, they were certainly wealthy enough to afford a restaurant like this. I wrapped my palm around the nearest glass of water on the table and brought it to my lips taking down large gulps.

Unbeknownst to me, the young man and the middle aged woman both stared at me in disgust as I chowed down different plates of food brought before me.

By my side stood a waiter offloading more delicacy on my table and at the same time taking off all empty plates.

This wasn't entirely my fault though. I've never tasted any dishes this good.

"Has she been starved for ages? she lacks proper etiquette which Diana possessed"

I heard the young man murmur to the older lady.

Few minutes later, a sigh of relief left my lips. It was too bad Jenna wasn't here to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity with me.

I burped out loudly and raised one of my leg on the empty seat beside me. I have never felt this satisfied and filled in my entire life.

My eyes wandered back to the two staring at me closely.

"What are you two staring at? huh?" I questioned with a raised brow.

The older lady grinned at me in pretense which I saw right through.

"How is that even possible? there can't possibly be two people who look so much alike except they are identical twins. And plus she behaves nothing like Diana, she looks like a hooligan-

"Hey, watch it!" I picked up my fork lying on the wooden table and pointed it to the young man's throat. I might have soft looks but I wasn't really soft. No one can speak ill about me while I'm still here.

I watched his Adam apple bobbed up and down. From his eyes I could see the hint of fear and disbelief dwelling in them.

A few gazes from people around were directed to us which made me quickly place my fork down. Something in me tells me that there was more to these two.

"Please calm down and hear us out first. I'm Sophie Reynold and this is Jake, my son. I'm sure you've heard about the Reynold's"

The Reynold's?? that rang a bell in my head. I've heard a lot about them. They were the wealthiest in the city and also the fanciest.

My hands went under my jaw just thinking about them, I wished I could live the life they were living. My daydream was interrupted when Sophie snapped her fingers before my face, bringing me to the harsh reality of my poor life.

"No way" I muttered beneath my breath. They both remained quiet for me to digest their words well.

That explained the fancy outfits they were putting on, the expensive car I jumped into and lastly this famous restaurant.

Oh God!

They were telling the truth!

"We have a task for you"

I took a deep breath in to catch her words, this was where things tended to get messy.

***

I kept on turning and tossing on the bed in the middle of the night. Mrs Reynold and her son had given me the entire day to think about their offer.

Like I said earlier, My life revolves around money, some might call it greed, but I don't care. I took a glance next to me where Jenna was supposed to be but hell she wasn't there.

Just then, I heard groans and moans coming from the opposite room. Rolling my eyes I sank back on the bed staring at the ceilings.

Jenna was at it again, deep down, I hate to think that she was doing all these just to put food on our table while I on the other hand was good for nothing.

She visits the clubhouse frequently and brings different men back home every night and the rest is history.

But all of that would change soon. I smiled meaningfully and closed my eyes slowly drifting into a deep slumber.

***

"What?!"

I rolled my eyes at Jenna's ridiculous outburst, I stood before a mirror adjusting my blouse's neckline which I wore over a thigh length black skirt.

"I'm serious, Jenna. They'll be here any minute to pick me and I have to look my best"

Jenna held my arm, turning me around to face her. I stared into her eyes and all I could see was fear and a different emotion I couldn't point out.

"Oh no! no! Jenna you should be happy, my parents debts will be cleared and we get to live in luxury!" I reminded her about the huge benefits we could get from the Reynold's. It's not everyday one gets to look like a missing heiress.

Jenna shrugged her shoulders with a light chuckle "By living someone else's life?" she questioned which made me tap my forehead in frustration. This wasn't how I expected her reaction to be. I had expected her to be overly joyous and excited about this.

"Come on-

"Just Kidding! I was just trying to say what a responsible adult was supposed to say at a time like this. But who cares? we are both irresponsible!"

She gave me a playful smack on my arm which we both laughed our guts out to, her hands settled on my shoulders after a few minutes of us laughing.

"Be careful. Those wealthy people can't be trusted easily, okay?"

I gave a firm nod and pulled her into my arms. We remained in that position for three minutes until the sound of a car horn was heard.

"They are here I presume. Go on to fulfill your dream of living in luxury and do visit sometimes if you're chanced okay?"

"Of course"

***

The smile on my lips grew larger and deeper when the car sent to pick me up stopped in front of the mall I had always wished to step into someday.

For a poor person like myself, I always had big dreams of becoming extremely wealthy one day. while in reality I didn't even have a single job. How sarcastic.

I couldn't care less why the car stopped at the mall instead of Reynold's villa.

The door next to me was pulled open for me to step out, the guard who accompanied me motioned his hand towards the Mall's opening.

"This way ma'am"

Ma'am? I was already being addressed as 'ma'am'. A part of my mind tingled joyously as I was led into the mall by the tall escort.

As soon as I stepped in through the large glass double doors, a small gasp left my lips. I snapped my head up staring at the high see through ceilings they had at the mall.

It felt surreal to me, I only took steps forward after I was nudged forward by the guard who was assigned to me. I cleared my throat in embarrassment.

The mall wasn't crowded but a few wealthy looking folks were swarming around like bees. My eyes lightened up in seconds as soon as I spotted Sophie approaching with another lady. Perhaps around my age.

Her honey brown eyes bore into mine, the shock on her face was just the same as Jake and Sophie on our first meeting yesterday.

The more they drew closer to me, the clearer their undeniable resemblance flashed before my eyes. If I'm not mistaken, she must be Mrs Reynold's daughter.

I managed to offer a smile "Hello Mrs Reynold. I'm glad to see you again"

Her response wasn't more than a nod of her head. Something about her felt off unlike yesterday when she had pretended to be nice and calm with me.

"Mum! How is this possible?! Diana is still alive?!" Lillian shrieked out which left me startled for a few seconds. It totally escaped my mind to find out who Diana was and how well acquainted she was with the Reynold's.

Sophie chuckled lightly, resting her hand on her daughter's shoulder. "I'm also surprised as you are honey. She is very much alive"

She looked towards my direction with the darkest smile I had ever seen on a person.

My instincts kicked off immediately, but it was too weak compared to my greedy thoughts.

"Isn't that so Diana?"

The name she addressed me as cringed me so much, I shuddered slightly and offered a polite smile which came out rather forced. My head nodded in approval, but then again there was a problem, how would I be able to recognize my supposed family and other friends?

It took me a great amount of patience to stop myself from slapping the smile off her face. But I couldn't bring myself to do it.

That would be a huge disrespect to Mrs Reynold and I couldn't risk it. At least not now, We've got plenty of time to fix each other's mess.

With that thought in mind, I beamed from ear to ear.

"Oh. I had no idea you were bringing a maid over"

The smile on the lady's face froze. I smirked at her facial reaction. Sophie wasn't spared out either. They both stared at me like they had seen a ghost or something.

"Did you hear that mum? She just addressed me as a servant! I'm gonna rip her head off…”

"I'm sure she doesn't mean it" Sophie spoke, running her hand gently on her daughter's back to keep her anger in check while her eyes were fixated on mine with a threatening glare lingering around her bright orbs.

~Ivy~I pushed the door to Scott's room open and walked in. A low pant leaving my lips as I paced around. My head was clouded with various thoughts on what the mother and son duo were up to.I got that I looked like the late Diana but why exactly did they want Diana alive? They didn't appear to like Diana either. ‘Have I gotten myself in deep trouble?’ I thought aloud.Taking a little spin, my eyes fell on the figure on the bed. I walked over to the bed where I took a seat.“There's so much going on in this house that I don't know about. It's my first day here but I feel like you are in danger. Not like I care but-My phone chimed. I turned the screen over. My jaw dropped in shock as I mentally calculated the figures flashing on my screen.‘one, two, three, four, five, six!’ Six million dollars! It was a credit alert from my bank. Sophie just sent me six million as per one of my requests. I dramatically passed out on the bed with my head on Scott's chest. My eyes opened when my ears

~Sophie~Was I insane? Yes!Never in my wildest dream did I ever imagine that the hooligan I brought into my home would be so classless and mannerless. I was so delighted to find out about her passing but I had no idea that Scott, my stupid step son already made a bold move. For years my son and I have been ridiculed and embarrassed in every way possible. Others might call him illegitimate, but all I knew was that he was the real flesh and blood of the Reynold's whether anyone accepted that fact or not.I heard the door closing behind me. Though I didn't turn around, I knew it was my son behind me. He walked over to my side and heaved a deep sigh. That's

There was a long silence that followed after I blurted out those words. I shut my eyes tightly for a second before snapping it open. My lips stretched into a large fake smile.“Uh…what I meant to say was that we should all have lunch. We have plenty of time to bond well again” I selected my words carefully. My Mum and Dad nodded their heads in approval. Mum was the one who took my hands in hers and led me to the dining table. She pulled out a seat for me and ushered me to sit on it. For a brief moment, I was jealous. I was jealous of Diana, whoever she was. She had such wonderful parents who cared about her.My eyes scanned the faces of everyone. They all had this unique smile on their faces while staring at me. There was a lot of love in those eyes well except the mother and son duo glaring at me.This showed that Diana was well loved in this family before she died. Except these two monitoring my movements with their eyes. “Diana. What are you waiting for? Eat up" That was my mum's

Once I made sure that I was very much still alive and not choking to death, I sent a glare to the mother and son. “Have you lost your fucking mind?! I could have died!” I yelled. Reminding them of what might have happened to me if Sophie hadn't stopped him from choking me.Oh Goodness! I've always wanted to drown in wealth but I never said choke. I haven't even started my role fully yet and someone was trying to kill me.Sophie took a deep breath. She detached herself from her psychopathic son and approached me again. This time, I was fully alert.“Listen Ivy..you have to follow our instructions. There are certain things you don't know and that's why I'm trying to make you understand it” I was marveled at the sudden turn her words took. She sounded so calm and polite, anyone who didn't know her vicious side would have fallen for her sweet words.“What do you mean?” I inquired not fully believing her words. She was just like a green snake on a green glass.“What I mean is that..we sh

  • The Billionaire’s Duplicate Bride    Chapter five: Coma

Beautiful…That was the right word to describe the male figure on the bed. His raven black hair was all stylishly messy, for a brisk moment, I wondered how it would feel to run my hand into his hair. He had a prominent nose and perfect jawline. I licked my bottom lips greedily as I gazed upon his plump ones. He was too perfect to be true. More like every girl's dream man.Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. Taking a glance around the room to ensure no one was here or any hidden camera was insight. Once I had ensured that the coast was clear, I approached him on his bed.My thoughts were insane and a bit wild but I had to satisfy my curiosity. I raised my index finger slowly down to his eyelid to do the unthinkable. I'd like to know and also see the color of his eyes.I was so carried away by my mischievous act that I didn't realize when the door opened. “Diana” My eyes rounded in shock. I recognized that voice, it was Vivian's. My finger originally on Scott's eyelids rushed into

  • The Billionaire’s Duplicate Bride    Chapter four: Shock

The large double doors leading to the spacious living room were pushed open by two female servants. I noticed the look they threw at me which was the same as Jake and Sophie's the previous day we first met.I tried my best to be in my best composure, i wasn't much of an actress material but at least I could act a bit natural.A few distant voices coming from the living room drew my attention. From their voices I could make out there were more than five people in there.Jake and I moved further into the room and my eyes were almost blinded by the glittering and elegant decor. My brain was quick to make a real calculative move on the total cost of everything.Maybe if I were to steal a single vase, I might become rich if I sold it. I laughed at the naughty thoughts and at the same time made a mental note to write that down in my to do list.Hehehe..."Sophie..I left an important beauty vacation just for you to flaunt your outfit? Come on! If there's really nothing serious to discuss, ju
