Nathan’s POV

I’ve gotten so many beautiful pictures of Amelie in the water. A sea turtle seemed to have fallen in love with her. It kept following her around. At one point, it came up and looked like it was kissing her cheek. I chuckled to myself, it must know her safe word is turtles.

Of course, Amelie had to name the turtle. Donatello, or Donnie for short, is our new Hawaiian pet. When we finally got out of the water to set sail, Donnie actually tried to climb the stairs with her. She was heartbroken when we left him behind.

Jake sat her down and told her about the Hawaiian goddess, Kaulia. She was a sea turtle goddess who transformed from a turtle to a human girl to protect all of the Keiki, the Hawaiian word for children.
