Amelie’s POV
The whales had moved on, and the captain started the engine and continued to Molokini. We actually weren’t that far from it, arriving about 15 minutes later. It was spectacular. I was so in love with travelling. I stood at the railing looking out at the portion of the crater that stood majestically out of the ocean. Nathan came up behind me and hugged me.
“Thank you, Nathan,” I sighed and leaned into his hug.
“Thank you for what?” He replied.
“For literally giving me the world,” I indicated.
“Amelie, you gave me the world when you married me and said you loved me,” Nathan said, planting kisses on my neck.
“I love you so much, Nathan,” I turned around and looked into his eyes. Fuck. His eyes shone like liquid silver in this light. “Not because of all this, but because of this,” I said, reaching up and touching his heart.
“I love you,
2 years laterMorgan’s POVI can’t believe I kissed Paul yesterday under the bleachers. Ugh… what was I thinking? It’s not like I even like him; it’s Nathan that I’ve had a crush on forever. Worst yet, I caught my lip on his braces, and now I’m probably going to have a scar. There was so much blood.“Dutton, what am I going to do?” I said, with my face in my hands. “I don’t want to screw up our friendship.”“Just tell him that,” Dutton replied. “Tell him, listen, Paul, I don’t want to screw up our friendship. I made a mistake, and I don’t have feelings for you like that.”“Why are you so smart, Dutton?” Morgan asked. “You always have the best answers for everything.”I leaned over and hugged Dutton hard. He really was a fantastic friend. So attentive, helpful, and always there for me. He pretty much had become my best friend over the last two years.I looked up, and Nathan and Paul were coming towards us.“Hey,” Paul said sheepishly when he reached us.“Hey,” I responded.“Listen,” we

I had stepped off the bus at the private prep school, and a bunch of rich jocks started ridiculing me for several reasons. First, I took the bus. Who would ever take a bus to a private school? Me, obviously. I was the school's ‘charity case’. Second, I wore glasses. Yes, I am near-sighted, something I couldn’t control. Third and most importantly, I was short. Another thing I couldn’t control, especially since I had skipped two grades. They didn’t care, though, as soon as I stepped off that bus, I was fair game for their torture and ridicule.“Hey, nerd,” One of them call
Amelie’s POVI blinked open my eyes, and there was light dancing in through the curtains at the window. I looked over to my side, and Nathan was lying on a cot, asleep. He stayed here last night? He didn’t need to do that. As if sensing I was awake, Nathan stirred.“Good morning, sunshine,” I said, smiling.“Good morning, kitten,” Nathan replied.“You didn’t need to stay here last night,” I stated.“I wanted to stay,” Nathan exclaimed. “I wanted to be with you.”“Sorry, I fell asleep last night,” I told him.“No apologies, kitten, you were so tired,” Nathan revealed. “You didn’t even move when Ena changed your dressings. Oh, and Ena was right. It was just some normal discharge, not blood. She said it happens a lot with staples.”“That’s good to hear,” I responded. “Did you have a chance to look at my stomach? Is it really bad?”Nathan stood up from the cot, walked over towards me, and sat on the edge of my bed. “Amelie, your stomach looks amazing for having given birth to five babies,
Amelie’s POVI was beyond excited. I got to meet all my babies. I had only seen Baby A before I had passed out. The orderlies wheeled my entire bed over to my new room.A nurse walked in when I settled into the room.“Good evening, Mrs. Michaels,” the nurse said, smiling. “My name is Ena. I can honestly say in my twenty-six years as a nurse, I’ve never seen Quintuplets. You’re so tiny as well, too!”“Well, I felt like a house yesterday,” I giggled.“A great sense of humor, you’ll need it with so many children,” Ena said. “Do you want us to bring them all in, or one at a time?”I looked at Nathan and smiled. “Can you bring them all in?”“We certainly can. I’ve been working the nursery most of the afternoon and evening, and they are such good babies already,” Ena stated. “I’ll be right back.”Ena returned about ten minutes later with four other nurses.Oh my gosh, all these babies were mine! Well, mine and Nathan’s. I can’t believe we made all these lives.“So, skin contact is really im
Nathan’s POV“Dr. Abrams,” I exclaimed. “Where is Amelie?”“Can we speak in private?” Dr. Abrams asked.“Anything you need to say, you can say in front of my family,” I declared.“At least have a seat, Nathan,” Dr. Abrams advised.I sat down, and my heart sank. It was as if he was bracing me for bad news.“Nathan, Amelie started to hemorrhage out because her uterus wasn’t contracting at all,” Dr. Abrams explained. “We didn’t know how to stop it or why it was happening.”“Doctor, are you telling me… she’s gone?” I said, with a shocked look on my face.“No, Nathan,” Dr. Abrams stated. “Oh my God, no. You thought I was going to tell you she was dead?”I breathed a sigh of relief.“Yes, you look so worried,” I declared.“No, I’m mad at myself. After we delivered the four babies, I started to prep to close her up. Then noticed that her uterus wasn’t contracting, and it started to hemorrhage,” Dr. Abrams informed. “That’s when we kicked you out of the room.”“So, what happened?” I questione
Nathan’s POVI was extremely nervous for Amelie. No matter how many times C-sections were performed, it was still surgery. A doctor was cutting my wife open. I know this was the safest for Amelie and the babies, but I still didn’t want her in any pain.Dr. Abrams and I scrubbed up and put on our operation scrubs, hats, gloves, and masks.“So, are you ready?” Dr. Abrams chuckled.“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” I laughed. “You’re the one doing all the work.”“Touche,” Dr. Abrams stated. We entered the operating room, and Amelie was already prepped and positioned on the operating table. Dr. Abrams had opted for Amelie’s arms not to be tied down, but asked me to hold both of her hands during the surgery. They had her slightly tilted to the left so they could put the spinal anesthesia in to freeze her lower half so she wouldn’t feel any pain. I pulled up the rolling stool beside her head and grabbed both of her hands in one of mine and then stroked her hair with my other hand.“How are
