6. Deflower me

"My Jewel," Brandon called, and the rich timbrel of his voice echoed in my room. At least Brandon still remembered the name he gave me the day I was born.

A name that holds a cherished place in my heart and melts my stubborn heart.

"For more than two hours, after talking to your grandfather, I was resisting the urge to come and see you, but I couldn't. Jewel, I missed you like hell," Brandon whispered softly. His voice was calm, and his eyes remained fixed on mine.

I kept quiet and continued staring at Brandon. I missed him and there was no need to pretend I didn't. After some minutes of silence, I took a deep breath and spoke.

"I missed you too," I murmured.

"I came to your estate, and you said you don't wanna see me. I came to Zenith Incorporation Tower, and you turned down my application to meet you. What did I do?"
