Chapter 3

Sonia's point of view...

After a miserable sleepless night which was more horrible than a nightmare, I was lying on the rooftop.

Seriously...!

I was kicked out of my house last night. Well, that's not the complete truth though.

I made my way back to my room where I swear not to enter again.

Ugh...!

But I have to because I have nothing on me, not even a penny in my pocket.

To get myself free from this so-called caring house, I had to complete that rubbish job for which I had to get something from my room.

I opened the flat door as slowly as possible, luckily it was still dawn, and the hall was empty.

My aunt might be still asleep, why won't she be, she had exerted herself yesterday.

Bloody *****...!

Oops. I shouldn't be using that word. I can't use a bitchy language for my so-called elders but seriously...!

If I could I would spend my half-life here scolding and cursing her. What she did to me was surely not something an elder does to the children anyway.

I strolled towards my room slowly, making sure not to make any sound to disturb that witch. Then in a hurry, I grabbed those things, a simple nightgown, a belt, and a pillow.

This was all that I needed to complete my job other than the pass and my wallet which was almost empty.

I tanned my face and body a little bit to look miserable and covered my eye bags with a darker shade of concealer.

Hoo...!

Perfect...! I look horrible.

Tugging the pillow under the gown and fixing it with the help of a belt I was ready for the mission.

Yep, I had to act like a pregnant woman.

Stupid isn't it?

But this is what my job says, to pretend to be a pregnant woman, a betrayed girlfriend. This is what I was forced to do. If it was not for the money, I would never do such a job.

Misha was my classmate. She belongs to a super rich family, the Mehra's. I don't know what went wrong.

Seriously what went into her that she had asked me to pretend as a pregnant girlfriend to her groom-to-be, at her own wedding?

It was crazy...!

I don't even know the man whose dreams I am going to shatter today.

She said that it was a forced marriage and I was just helping her by doing this.

Whatever...!

I have to do this to get myself out of my house, now a burning pit. I can't live on like that.

Now that I have decided to get out I have to be strong.

I looked around before getting out of the house, covering my face with a scarf. I can't let my aunt or anyone else see me like this. She will either kill me or will die due to a heart attack.

Getting on the bus I cross-checked everything again to make sure I was not mistaken.

It was still early but I needed to get to Juhu by ten to attend the wedding, I mean, to spoil the wedding.

I sent a text message to Misha that I was on my way to her along with a picture of mine on the bus.

Ting, a beep and I looked at the phone screen, my account was credited with the amount she promised. But not a half amount, she actually paid the full amount.

Sixty Lakhs...!

My freedom.

Though I was nervous about what I had to face today, a smile still tugged on my lips. At least I won't be a trash in that house from today on. I can live a better life. Get a better job.

I don't know where my mom is but I wanted to show her that I am living a good life even though she left me alone.

On reaching the Juhu beach area, I made my way toward the resort, Misha asked me to come. Every step was passing a sensation inside my body. I was trembling. I am not a timid girl but this job was the weirdest one that I have ever done. Misha's father is a well-known businessman in the country, so offending him might be dangerous.

I don't know why, but the more I get closer to the resort, the more my heart was getting nervous.

I inhaled and exhaled a few times and continued my walk.

Nestled within the heart of the pristine resort, the luxurious wedding hall stands as a testament to opulence and elegance. As soon as I stepped into this enchanting space, I felt I was transported to a realm of beauty and grandeur that perfectly complemented the natural splendor of the resort's surroundings.

I wondered, Did I just travel to the heavens?

Standing before the resort my eyes fell on the banner before me, Red Cross Wedding Hall. I have heard about it before, it was a place where even the wealthiest people in the city couldn't enter without permission.

Politicians, celebrities, and those who have the capability of running the city are found here. I trembled at just the look of that tight security.

Misha sent me a VIP pass that has access to all the wedding halls in this resort without which I don't think I could even see inside from that huge gate.

I stared at the watch in my hand, sharp ten o'clock. She said I had to be there at quarter past ten to make sure I would be there before the wedding.

I took a deep breath and exhaled the hot air out of my lungs to get the strength to do this job perfectly and finally made my way in.

Though the security guard looked at me weirdly, he finally let me in after checking the pass in my hand.

I strode straight to the main hall passing all the luxurious vehicles parked in there.

Many extraordinary cars, luminous and sports cars were parked in the front area of that resort cum wedding hall.

I gapped at those with my eyes flung open as I passed by. I have never seen a sumptuous resort before, not even in cinemas.

Misha's father is indeed one of the richest men in the city to be able to spend a fortune on his daughter. I slowly put together all my courage, standing before the gate of the main hall.

All I need to do is yell, scream, and make a scene out here, accusing the groom of being the father of my unborn baby and gathering the attention until Misha's father grabs the groom's collar and drags him out.

She said she would arrange my escape.

I know that this is not easy but still, I don't have a way out, I couldn't do anything else. I must do this because I already got paid for it.

Dabbing my heart I prepared myself for this adventure and stepped in.

The hall was astonishingly decorated with flowers and colorful curtains. Buzzing with the finest suits and sparkling dresses.

I swallowed hard stepping further, and now the view of the stage was clear to me. A complete set of a Western wedding.

But...!

Western Wedding...?

Misha never told me that she was going to have a Western wedding.

Whatever, I just have to do what I was hired to do and then just get out of this mess forever.

I saw the bride and the groom standing before the priest, facing each other.

I sucked in the air, closed my eyes, and shouted my throat out. One of my hands was on my stomach, covering my baby bump.

"You bastard...!" I screamed as loud as I could.

"How dare you betray me...?" I yelled again and this time I used every ounce of my courage.

I can't believe it...!

I can't believe I did it.

The hall was in chartering mode before but was now in stillness. A dead silence spread everywhere.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the stage. Both the bride and groom, even the priest were gaping at me.

Almost everyone present in this hall was staring at me in shock. I gulped down the lump formed in my throat. I can't back down now, I have to do this.

I stepped in further, my legs were shivering with fear as if they were about to break. There was no other reaction other than those shocking stares and glances.

Should I repeat myself?

"How could you betray me?" I shouted again while legging further. I was still a little far from the stage.

"How could you...!" I stopped as I found something was off.

Wait...!

Who was that?

I looked at the bride's face and my soul slipped out of my mouth.

What the...!

How could it be?

What the hell did I do?

Where am I? What am I supposed to do?

To my surprise, that bride was not Misha.

I saw a crowd of armed men in black suits running towards me and in no time I was surrounded by them.

My whole frame froze and I was like a statue with my eyes stuck on the face that was nearing me. The groom stepped down and was walking towards me. As he was near enough for me to see his face, my heart stopped beating.

This is not going to happen...!

What am I supposed to do now?

Can I undo everything now?

How I wish that the ground opens right in front of me and gulps me inside it.

Oh god...! What did I do?

Just kill me, God, right here.

Oh...! I think that will be done soon, not by God but by the Grim Reaper making his way to me.

I am dead...!

A....Arjun T...Thakur...!

But....! Why the hell is he here?

Arjun Thakur the most dangerous man in the world, is the embodiment of an enigmatic duality. Handsome and charismatic, but he hides a deadly and dangerous secret beneath his polished exterior reputation.

I heard he never hesitated before killing someone. But killing was the easiest thing that someone could get from him. His ways of torturing his offenders are extremely notorious and terrible.

He is famous for being the dark lord of this country.

No way...! This is not happening...!

I can't get involved with him. Not in this way at the very least.

It was told that he is also the infamous kingpin of a clandestine and ruthless mafia organization that operates in the darkest corners of the criminal underworld. He rules with an iron fist, his criminal empire extending far beyond the public eye.

It was rumored that he had a mansion in the middle of the forest where he tortured those who offended him with various unimaginable methods.

I even heard that no one ever dared to come out of that mansion alive.

Why did I stick with him?

Where is that stupid girl Misha?

Did I make a mistake or it was she who wanted me dead?

Why God...! Just why on earth?

He made his way to me and stumbled backward until I was stopped by the strong bodies of those black-dressed bodyguards.

What will he do to me?
