Azalea's POV

We sat outside the hospital on the bench after my antenatal checkup. The breeze was mild, and the scent of antiseptic lingered in the air. The doctor had confirmed everything was fine, yet the silence between Noah and me felt heavy.

"Who's she?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.

I'd battled with myself for hours, debating whether or not to ask. But the resemblance, it was too striking to ignore. Her photo haunted me. Was that why he’d been so kind to me all this while?

He turned to me, slow and quiet, his voice cracked when he spoke. "My ex-fiancée."

My breath hitched. I regretted the question immediately.

"She died in a car accident. I survived, she didn’t," he added, eyes fixed on the gravel beneath his shoes.

I swallowed the sudden lump in my throat. Guilt twisted inside me. Pity, deeper than I expected, settled in my chest.

"I'm so sorry," I said once I found my voice again.

Noah nodded, then shrugged. "I just coped. It's been four years now. Ace was there for me

Ace's POV“We’ve gathered all our crew and team members,” Abigail said as she jogged behind me.“Okay,” I smiled and pushed the boardroom door open.Almost everyone was already here, including our new actress, Escola. Her brown skin glowed at the far end of the room.My eyes roamed around until they landed on Lea. Everything around me went still, the noise, the people. My heart beat faster and louder than before. My hands grew sweaty. Her eyes locked onto mine, and in that moment, I realized it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my entire life. Her face, fair and milky, made it impossible for me to look away.“Sir,” Abigail called, snapping me out of my thoughts.I smiled and walked to the head chair. I noticed Noah sitting beside her. The anger I would normally feel after his sudden confession was no longer there.Maybe it was because of yesterday, the therapy session we had at the basketball court.Even though we were angry at each other, we still found comfort in each

Noah’s POVI gripped the steering wheel tightly, knuckles whitening, as I navigated the car toward the old high school campus. The road unfurled before me, almost surreal, like time had warped back eight years. The basketball court was the place where Ace and I always landed; the concrete bench where we parked ourselves whenever life felt too sharp or loud. Now, even though we graduated years ago, it still called to us.I pulled into the parking lot and cut the engine. The air sat heavy in the car, but stepping out cut through it. Walking past the rusted chain-link fence, my heart started hammering like I was a freshman again.I recognized his car immediately, the dark, sleek model he favored. I gave a quick nod to the gatekeeper, a familiar figure from our past. He always let us in without question. He knew us well enough to understand we weren’t heading for trouble. The school was almost deserted, the afternoon light slanting across empty hallways and echoing locker doors. I made my

Third Person's POV"Welcome home, baby girl," Escola murmured under her breath, dragging her luggage behind her as she stepped out of the airport terminal and into the cool Canadian breeze. The wind tugged at the edges of her coat, and the familiar scent of home wrapped around her like a warm hug. She adjusted her shades and scanned the bustling crowd until her eyes landed on Peace, her manager and best friend.Peace’s curly ginger hair bounced with every step as she ran toward her, arms flung wide open and a radiant grin lighting up her face.“Baby girl!” Peace squealed, her voice slicing through the airport noise. “The one and only Escola Johnson!”“Don’t mess my afro,” Escola warned with a teasing tone, just before her best friend tackled her into a hug.“I missed you, so much.” Peace laughed, pulling back slightly to study her face.“Same here,” Escola replied, giving Peace’s hand a squeeze. There was something grounding about Peace’s presence, something that made the chaos of tra

ACE POV"I thought you wouldn't be coming to work today," Abigail said, standing by the door as I stepped into my office. Her voice was laced with casual surprise, but I knew her well enough to hear the hidden relief."Yeah," I muttered, sliding out of my coat and hanging it on the stand beside the bookshelf. "I thought so too, but here I am."The truth was, I couldn't stay home today. The silence of that place had been too loud lately. It was even louder after everything that happened today. I was still pissed."What’s my schedule?" I asked, walking over to my desk. My fingers tapped idly on the polished surface as I waited."Just the board meeting," she replied. "We’re deciding which actress will go for in the new project."I nodded. "What time?""In thirty minutes.""Alright, set up the meeting room.""Yes, sir."She gave me a brief nod and left, heels clicking across the marble floor, leaving me alone with my thoughts for twenty-nine long minutes.********************************

Azalea's POV"Can I come in?" Noah asked as he popped his head through the door after a soft knock."Yeah, sure," I said, rising from my chair briefly out of courtesy."You can sit," he added."Thank you," I replied, settling back into my seat, smoothing my skirt beneath me. "Do you want me to do something for you?" My voice came out slower than I intended, cautious, curious. He smiled, the kind that made you feel like you were the only person in the room. He pulled out the chair opposite mine and sat, leaning in slightly."When was the last time you went for a checkup?"My eyes flicked around the room, searching for something to focus on. The desk lamp. My sketchbook. Anything. I tried not to blush, I tried and failed. "I don’t know," I said finally, my voice barely above a whisper.“C’mon,” he laughed, light but earnest. “You know you’re supposed to get checked regularly, right?”His concern softened something in me. His gaze wasn’t just medical, it was layered with worry, warmth, t
