Arielle

There was no way to tell if Tiffany had actually locked me out. The real problem, I didn’t have the key with me.

“Fuck!” I muttered, gripping the handle again. I shook it harder this time. Nothing.

“Tiffany?” I called, knocking. “Open the door.”

No response.

I knocked again. Louder this time. Still nothing.

I pushed the handle down repeatedly, but it didn’t budge.

And it was really late. The neighbors were probably asleep already. And here I was, making noise like a crazy person.

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    Lunch With Joel

Arielle “Darius,” I called, banging lightly on the window. “Come on, don’t do this. We were just talking–“Nathan switched on the engine. “Nathan, don’t you dare,” I warned, moving quickly to the driver’s side window. Unfortunately, he listened to his boss more than me. The car sped out of the garage so fast it almost looked like a racecar. I stood there in disbelief, staring after it. Seriously? This was the second time Darius had ditched me.I slowly turned back at Joel. “Can you believe him?” Joel said nothing. “How are we supposed to get home now?”“I’ll call a taxi,” he replied calmly, already pulling out his phone. “It should be here in a few minutes.”I let out a frustrated breath and crossed my arms. “But why would he do that?” I muttered. “Just because we had a conversation outside his office? Must he be aware of everything?”Joel stayed quiet, focused on his screen. I groaned softly, dragging a hand through my hair. “Let’s get out of here first…it’s suffocating.”We

Arielle I chose a quiet corner in the hallway before stopping. People kept passing by, so I waited patiently until the area finally emptied. Then I turned to Joel. “I need a favor.”He stiffened almost immediately. “And I want this to stay between us.” He exhaled quietly before nodding once. I leaned closer, lowering my voice. “A strange car was at the gate last night,” I whispered. “I need you to speak to whoever was on gate duty and find out who it belonged to.”“A strange car?” He repeated, confused. “Nathan told me it was Mrs. Lisa Rothwell’s car. I shook my head quickly. “Not. This one came before hers.”His brows pulled together slightly. “Just help me investigate it,” I added softly. “Please.”Because I knew I saw. I knew I saw Emris. But when he called earlier, he sounded completely normal. Like he hadn’t been anywhere near Darius’s house. Joel studied my face for a few seconds before nodding again. “Okay. I’ll tell you everything I find before the end of the day.”Re

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    The Party Invitation

Arielle Thank goodness, Darius wasn’t paying much attention to me. His focus kept drifting toward Joel instead. But my mind was elsewhere. Emris. What was he doing outside Darius’s house? He was here last night. And now again this morning. I needed to find out. Lisa’s car eventually turned onto another road while ours continued straight ahead. As soon as we arrived at the company, I adjusted the scarf around my neck and took a deep breath. Only then did I notice Darius still sitting beside me, staring. “What?”He blinked once and looked away. “Nothing.” Then he stepped out of the car and opened the door for me, extending his hand. I hesitated. The number of people staring at us made it worse. Still, I placed my hand in his. We walked into the building together while greetings echoed around us. I forced a smile and waved lightly at them all. The moment the elevator closed, silence settled heavily between us. Too awkward.Thankfully, my phone rang.I quickly slipped my hand

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    The Beginning Of Exposure

Arielle Come to think of it…wasn’t Lisa bothered at all that Darius chose me out of every peaceful, decent, and less violent family he could have married into? Or maybe she hadn’t thought about it deeply enough. That my entire life was tied to bloodshed, violence, betrayal…deadly secrets. Yet none of that seemed to matter to her. She just kept looking at me. Studying me softly as if I was already part of her family. The thought unsettled me. She froze the moment I asked the question. I knew it wasn’t really meant for her, but he was her son. “What’s he going to do with me?” I asked again quietly, my eyes shifting between both of them. For a brief moment, nobody answered. Then Lisa slowly looked toward Darius. “That,” she said carefully. “Is what I’m also curious about.” I swallowed hard before speaking. “I’m really sorry your family had to go through all of that with my psycho of a father,” I said honestly. “But what does any of it have to do with me? I

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    My Father’s Sins

Arielle Shortly after, Darius pulled the curtains aside and stood beside me, following my gaze toward the gate. “Whose car is that?” He asked casually. Then after a short pause, his brows furrowed. “That’s not my car.” His voice stirred something uneasy inside me. I could feel how close he was standing. Instinctively, my fingers moved to my neck. Even when he spoke softly now, a part of me still feared him. Not always. But whenever he got close. I swallowed and shifted away carefully without making it obvious. I watched as the car reversed slowly. Just then did another car approached the gate. The guards opened it instantly. Darius’s expression changed immediately. “That’s my mother’s car,” he said. Then his eyes snapped toward me. “Arielle–“ “I didn’t invite her. I swear.” I cut in quickly. He paused. For a second, he simply stared at me. Then his jaw clenched. “Stay here.” And he walked away fast. Too fast. The bedroom door slammed loudly behin

Arielle “I’m not doing that,” Darius said flatly as he walked away. “I won’t repeat myself, Darius–““Shut your fucking mouth,” he snapped suddenly, turning back toward me. My heart jumped violently. “Okay? Enough!” He barked. “I have a long day tomorrow, and I need to prepare.”Fear spread across my face before I could hide it. The kind that froze my body instantly. And he noticed.Darius stopped moving. The anger in his expression faded almost immediately as he stepped back from me. I couldn’t say a word.“I’m sorry,” he apologized quickly, blinking hard like he was trying to regain control. “You need to sort that out yourself.”Then he left the room. The moment the door shut behind him, I finally breathed properly again. God. It took everything in me to stand up to him without backing down. When I saw him clench his fist earlier, I genuinely thought he was going to lose control again. But this time, he stopped himself. That alone shocked me. A text suddenly entered my phon
