Chapter Six.

Tia was resigned, there was not much that she could do, after all, she was powerless, it was all her fault, she could have taken her power when she still had the chance to, but now she was stuck with her father who she was beginning to hate. He clearly loved his company more than he loved her, it was very disheartening discover that the man that birthed her did not love her.

Tia sat on her bed and cried throughout the night. Telling William that she cheated did not work at all, instead after that day, her father begged William's father and the engagement was more sealed than ever. She was already getting ready for her engagement party. William somehow got a picture of her leaving the hotel, he was using the picture to threaten her and making her feel terrible for cheating on him, he did not even consider the fact that he cheated first.

Tia did not call Hera, she was disappointed in herself and she felt she should just face the consequences, no need to involve her friend. She just needed to be calm and wait for when it was all over. She had given up, there was nothing more than she could do. She should just continue living her life just like the way she lived before, nothing would happen to her. She might even be happy as time went by.

"Tia, get ready, we are going to William's company today, we are going to get the documents for your marriage signed," her father said as he stood by her door. Tia looked up from her fingers and glanced at him, so much pain filled her heart at the man that was meant to protect her and keep her safe, the man that she trusted with her life, her father.

"Wear something pretty, do not dress as though you are going for a funeral," her father said before leaving the room. Tia thought of defying him and wearing something baggy, but she had given up, all the fire in her had died. She could not muster the energy to be defiant.

Tia just stood up and a picked a black dress. Well, it was nice enough and it was something that she would ordinary wear, with the big buttons and the fact that it was knee length, she coupled it with black tights and a pair of heels. Tia always knew that she was pretty. She did not need validation to know that she was pretty. She was the prettiest girl in her class and all the boys liked her, but even then, she only had eyes for William. She was even more beautiful as she grew up and a lot of people told her that, she put a lot on her beauty, it was all that she had on her own, the fact that she had a face that could sell and her smile too.

Her insecurities only came in college when people said that all she had was a pretty face. It occurred to her that she did not have much of her own other than her face. She was good enough at school, but everyone knew her father, they all thought she bought her grades. She later found out that her father did pay for her to get As, even if she did deserve them.

Tia shrugged as she applied red lipstick on her lips, all that did not matter, all she would ever be was a wife, a wife with a pretty face.

She wrapped her hair so that not one strand fell to her face, and then she tried to smile at her reflection. It did not work much, she could not smile.

Tia came out of her room with her bag and walked down the stairs. People said that she walked like she had power, and that the world was under feet. Tia usually laughed when she heard that, she did not have any power, she could not even make the most basic decisions for herself, if anything, she was under the world's feet.

"Are you ready?" Her father asked her as she got down stairs. He just finished having breakfast and he looked at her and smiled.

"Good to know that you are getting your old self back. Look on the bright side, Princess, if both our companies merge you would have all that power within your reach," her father said. It seemed like he mistook the fact that she wore make up that she was now alright and willing to talk to him.

"What am I going to do with all that power? When I cannot even rule one company, what will I do with the power of having two?" She asked her father. She was not in the mood to laugh and make jokes with the man that would so easily sell her soul.

Robert Wilson laughed and walked down to her, he then took her by the arm and led her outside.

"I think it would be better you were quiet when we get to the office," her father said and Tia looked at another direction. She sat in the car with him. It would be better if she was quiet, no one would listen to her if she talked

anyway.

The drive to Rowling's Advertising was a big company, the biggest advertising firm in the state. Everyone wanted to be affiliated with them, her father included. Her father took it as pure luck that they were interested in their company.

If Tia was not involved in their business transaction, she could have agreed with him, but she was involved and she did not give two hoots about the business. There was no need to involve her.

"Very soon, we will be a part of this," her father said as he gestured to the building in front of them. The building was huge, and covered with glass. Tia had an image of people throwing stones at the glass house and it coming all down. She harbored so much hate for the the family and her father in her mind. She hated them all for making her feel so wretched.

Tia reluctantly followed her father into the building. She watched him as the staff smiled at him and he smiled back in return. Tia could not be bothered to even try to smile, they did not deserve her smiles.

"We are here to see Ernest and William Rowling," her father said to the receptionist and she nodded.

"They are in a meeting now, but they will be done soon and ready to attend to you," the lady said with a smile on her lips.

Her father looked annoyed, but he nodded. Her father was a proud man but he wass putting down his pride for the Rowling's and he was putting down his daughter too.

"We will wait," her father said with a tight smile on his face and she sat down on the chair with him.

Tia sat down and brought out her phone. She began scrolling on her social media page and the pictures she had uploaded. She ran a few social media accounts and was a mini celebrity herself.

Tia was replying to her fans when the door to the office opened, she looked up and she was met with a familiar face.

Tia blinked her eyes as the man looked at her too. It was the man that she had a one night stand with, Lloyd.

"Oh, Tia, you are here," William said with a smile and held her by the waist. Tia tried to be calm and relax, but she was not able to relax in his arms.

She kept stealing glances at the handsome man that had done many things to her body a week ago. Tia imagined that she would meet him again, but not so soon and certainly not there not with William.

"You are not going to introduce me Will?" Lloyd asked. His voice still sounded as sexy in broad daylight.

"Oh, Lloyd, this is Tia Wilson, my fiancee. Tia, this is Lloyd, my business partner," Will said to him. Lloyd raised an eyebrow at the word fiancee and Tia was scared that he would say that he had slept with her, that would only make her situation worse than it was, she did not need that kind of problem.

Instead of getting her out, Lloyd stretched his hand for a handshake and Tia took the hand, it felt warm, familiar and oddly sexual.

Tia closed her eyes as she savored the feeling of touching him again.

"You have a very beautiful fiancee Will, I hope you treat her well," Lloyd said to Will, and Will smiled.

"Of course I do, I am lucky to have her after all," Will said and placed a kiss on her cheek, she was so shocked that she was unable to elbow him.

"It was nice doing business with you, I should get going," Lloyd said and he left them.

Tia could not stop looking at him.

"Let us go and sign some contracts," Will said as he held her hand and all but dragged her into the office.

Tia had a feeling that she was about to sign half of her life.

Lloyd was amused. It was the woman that he had a one night stand with, he knew that she looked familiar. The woman that had one in his thoughts for the entire week, to think that she was the fiancee of the man that he absolutely abhorred. The man that he hated a lot. William Rowling.

That was not exactly right, Lloyd hated Ernest Rowling more because of what he did to his family. He only pretended to tolerate the both of them for the sake of business.

It was really such a shame that Tia was soon to be Wil's wife. He actually toyed with the idea of finding her and then seducing her again. It was such a shame.

But then again, he could not keep her out of his mind. He kept thinking of her and how uncomfortable she looked around William. Perhaps it was an arranged marriage? It was not unheard of in the business world.

William was usually an arse, a professional one. There was no way Tia would be happy with him. Lloyd remembered her face when he first saw her, she looked so sad and heartbroken. Lloyd knew that William was the source of that broken heart.

Lloyd toyed with the idea of seeing her again, she was not happy with Will, it would not be so hard to score a second night, but then he knew that was very stuck up, he could bet that it was the first time that she cheated on him. He could also bet that she had a limited amount of sexual partners in her entire life and so it would be so difficult for her to suddenly say she wanted an affair.

Lloyd figured that the best thing was to forget about her. It was just one night and he would have many more with other women, he would have more partners and better nights, but there was something about her big brown eyes that drew him in, and when she stared at him with those eyes with so much longing, he knew that he would never have that look recreated elsewhere by anyone in the world.

"How did the meeting go Sir?" His assistant and close friend, Jasmine asked him, she waited in the car while he was in the office with Will and his father.

"It went quite well, things are falling into place. I daresay that they are taking the bait, we will strike soon enough," Lloyd told her and she smiled.

"I think that it went very well then, but why do you have that look on your face? Like you are worried about something?" Jasmine asked. Lloyd chuckled at that,  Jasmine had always been able to read him very well, it was something that made him admire her and keep her close, other than the fact that she was his sister's best friend.

"I just met someone that I did not think I would ever meet again, and so soon. It shook me I guess," Lloyd said and settled in the car. Jasmine frowned at that.

"Do I know this person?" Jasmine asked and Lloyd shook his head. He was not willing to share that moment.

"Forget about it," Lloyd said and Jasmine shrugged.

FabianFive years later"When I turned four, I had three birthday parties," ten-year-old William Lewis told his little sister, Natasha. Tasha, for short—the queen of the Lewis household—was not having it. Even if Tasha was just four years old, and even if she was just three years old yesterday, she was never one to back down from a fight, an argument, or even just a nice conversation."Well, this is just my first birthday party. I will be having three more this week. Four birthday parties since I am turning four," Tasha said and showed William the number three, before realising that she was no longer three and switching it up to four. I knew for sure that there was no other birthday party. Tasha's school friends, her teachers, the children of the staff, her cousins—yes, finally, my children now had cousins—Grandma, Uncle Eric, Aunt Tricia, everyone else was here for one big party. The party was in full swing already, and Tasha was wearing the biggest ball gown I had ever seen on a fou

AraI woke up feeling sated and happy. Everything was perfect. Well, technically, it wasn't, and nothing could be perfect. I didn't really believe in perfection, but at that moment, it was perfect for me. It was what I wanted — to live a peaceful life where everything was fine. And that was what I was feeling right now: peace."Happy Anniversary, Babe," I said to my husband and kissed him on the lips. We were still in bed together, and he was just waking up. He still looked a little sleepy. He looked so handsome and perfect when he stared at me like that."Happy Anniversary, baby," he said and reached out to me, pulling me back to the bed, on top of him.I just chuckled."I can't believe we have been married for six whole years," Fabian said with a smile. It was a wonder, really."It might be the fact that we have only been together for two of those years," I said. I was joking. Things were so good now. We could laugh at how tumultuous our relationship was in the early days. The past

AraEverything was over. It was okay. We would finally have the chance to live our lives again. The past was over, and it would not be easy to just forget about all that happened and move on, but at least Quincy was in jail. He would be punished for his crimes. We could live our normal lives, try to improve the business, be happy now.And that was what we did for the next few weeks. We had this talk together. It was almost like the first time we were free, so we spoke about everything. We laid ourselves bare, and we were ready to start all over again. It would be perfect. The time was right. It was five years into our marriage. We would grieve the loss of our child together and try to build our family, for William's sake and for our sake as well. At this point, we needed this. We even started planning another trip to Maldives. Maybe we would take William with us, to bond together, but we agreed that it would be best for us to go alone, especially to Maldives. We would think of somethi

AraIt felt like it had been an eternity since I came back to New York with this whole plan of revenge. In reality, it was nine months ago. And now, today, everything would finally be over. I would get justice, my father would get justice, and even William and Fabian would get justice. The case had progressed fast, and it was the sentencing of Quincy. Finally, he was going to be put in prison. The case had been wild. The entire case had been pushed forward because, basically, there was evidence. It was not a question of “Did Quincy do it?” It was more of, “Was he well when he did it?”Fabian and I were living our lives after our baby's birthday. We had spent time together. We even celebrated our fifth marriage anniversary together. Not a big party, we just talked about it at dinner. It felt like all was over. It was time to move on. At the same time, I knew that it was not time at all. We could not move on yet. Quincy's case was still in court. It was the one last thing that we had to

FabianWilliam's party was splendid. He was very excited about it, and he even thanked Ara and I profusely. I could tell that he would not keep quiet about this for as long as possible, until maybe something bigger came along, maybe Christmas, and he would talk about that endlessly instead.I really enjoyed being around the children, and surprisingly, the entire thing made me feel young again. I even jumped with the kids a few times. This evening was the dinner that we would spend with family, and I knew Ara did get an inflatable pool that came with a slide and all. It was going to be a surprise for William, along with the children of the staff that we didn't tell him we were inviting. I was excited for both. It would be like the school party, but on steroids. I was a bit worried that it would get out of hand and concerned that I would not be able to be a part of it, but that was for a little while. I expelled all negative thoughts from my mind after then and focused more on how much

Ara"I am having the best time!" William screamed. He was jumping up and down his castle. He did look like he was having a swell time. I had to give him that. I was so happy that William was happy. It made all the work that I put into this party so worth it.The day we made the list, Fabian, William, and I went to the market. We did take the chef with us because she was the one that typically worked on things like that, and it would make our day easier to do that. That was the best decision that we made.We went to the children's aisle to buy supplies for the party packs first, something that we shouldn't have even thought about. I just figured that was the best, even if Alba warned me.William became so excited and animated there. He wanted everything. He could technically get everything, his parents were rich, and we were buying a lot of toys. But one did not just buy their kid every single thing on the shelf. The longer we stayed in the aisle, the more William found stuff that he r
