Mr. Brookes looked in the opposite direction as he watched his wife and Nora chat. He detest for her was no difference for his son even though his son didn't show his just yet.

He sighed and patted her shoulder. "Even though, you have done well."

"Thank you Uncle, can I get you something so long?"

"Just a beer will do."

She nodded at his request and left. Mr. Brookes then walked his way back to where he was previously sitting. His eyes looking closely at her.

"My son has Just never talked to you about us in the first place."

Nora forced a smile. "He must have been...shy? I guess."

"My son is never shy, he is one of the best there is. Not even a woman can make him fuss, come to talk of you."

His wife wanted to oppose but Nora stopped him. "Thanks... dad, can I call you dad?"

"Ugh?", he nearly choked.

"I am just saying, since you are like my new family.", she was saying. "It wouldn't be bad to actually call you dad."
