She saw Kuya Lysander frown.

"What's this?"

He stared at her.

"Xen? What does this mean?"

Her brother showed her the paper.

"Kuya...I can explain."

She lowered her head, trying not to cry as she tried to tell him everything.

"That's exactly what I want you to do...explain this. Why? What...."

Lysander scratched his head.

"Who the hell got you pregnant?"

His jaw clenched in anger.

"Kuya..."

"Who?!"

He shouted at her.

"Xen...I did everything just to give you everything you wanted. Maybe I'm the reason why you turned out like this. But I never wanted you to be like me. Tell me who the bastard who got you pregnant is!"

She could only close her eyes whenever her brother raised his voice.

He had every right to be angry at her.

It was also her fault.

"D-Darian..."

She said through her tears.

He only laughed.

"Don't lie to me! Darian wouldn't do this...the man is getting married, and he loves his girlfriend. Why would he get you pregnant—"

"I'm telling the truth!!"

She couldn't stop herself from shouting.

"Just once, Kuya! Just once, believe in me, please...Do you think I wanted this too?! I didn't want this! All of this is ruining my life, and there's nothing I can do to make things right again!"

She said as she cried loudly.

She was about to say more so her brother could understand, but she suddenly felt pain in her stomach.

"Xen?"

Her brother supported her when he noticed that she was in pain.

"Kuya...Ahhh!"

She held her stomach.

WHEN THEY ARRIVED at the hospital, they were both silent for several minutes until her brother approached her and hugged her.

"I'm sorry, Kuya...I didn't know what we did would lead to this...I didn't know. I was too drunk. I didn't even know he was engaged. I'm ruining myself. It's my fault."

It felt like a thorn had finally been pulled from her throat when she told her brother everything.

She told him everything that had happened, and she knew he wasn't happy about what he had heard.

"Don't worry. I will never leave that man alone until he pays for what he's done."

Her brother said seriously.

"Don't, Kuya. Just let them be."

She didn't want any more trouble, especially now that she wasn't supposed to be stressed because of her baby.

They both stared at the door of the room when someone entered.

It was Darian.

He was with two women.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Her brother was on alert, and so was she.

Who knew what her brother would do?

"Calm down, hijo. We just came to visit my son's child. We mean no harm."

The older woman spoke.

She had gray hair and looked to be in her fifties.

"No offense, Tita, but what happened between them and my sister was wrong. He's my friend, and I never expected him to do something like this."

She noticed that her brother was only controlling his anger.

She looked at everyone in the room.

The old woman looked nice.

If she wasn't mistaken, that woman was Mrs. Olivia Veyne—Darian's mother.

And the woman beside her was Darian's fiancée.

And the other man was...

She stopped thinking when she noticed the man staring at her.

It's Darian's brother.

The CEO of Veyne Corp.

Dr. Killian Veyne.

The youngest billionaire surgeon in Asia.

"I'm the one who should apologize. He's just scared of what he's done. He loves Shelly, and he was drunk, so that's why he did it."

The woman explained.

"You're right. Your son was drunk, but if he truly loved Shelly, then even while drunk, he wouldn't have been able to cheat on her."

Her brother interrupted again.

"I know...but we're here to make things right. You know, hijo, I've always wanted a grandchild, and Darian and Shelly won't be able to give me one because she can't have children. The woman's eyes told her that she was excited to have a grandchild.

She warned him.

"Darian needs to marry my sister."

He said in a serious tone.

She placed a hand on her brother's shoulder.

"I want her family to be complete. Your son already ruined her future. He needs to pay for it."

What the hell was he thinking?!

"Ma...don't agree to this."

Darian stubbornly said as he hugged his fiancée.

"If you don't marry my sister, I'll sue you."

"Kuya!"

She shouted.

He had to stop this stupid nonsense.

"Lysander..."

Darian's voice was pleading.

He truly loved Shelly, didn't he?

"I'll do it...I have a proposal for you, Mr. Wren."

Everyone stopped when Killian spoke.

"Ali?"

Mrs. Veyne frowned.

"Your sister will have a complete family. The child will carry my name. And she'll stay with us, as my wife. I still have a meeting to attend. My assistant will send the contract to you."

She frowned at what Killian was saying.

This was getting messy.

She was going to marry the other brother?

"Deal."

Her brother immediately said.

No...

No way.

"No..."

She shook her head.

"Kuya, I am already a grown woman. I can take care of myself, and I also know how to decide for myself."

She added.

"Excuse us..."

The Veyne family said their goodbyes.

She simply watched them as they left the room one by one.

"Are you listening, Xen? If Darian doesn't want you, then his brother is there. He wants to take responsibility for you.

Please, Xen. Don't do this for me...do this for yourself. Do this for your child.

I don't want everyone to look at you differently because of what happened."

She lowered her head and thought about it.

Nothing bad would happen to her if she followed her brother's decision, but...

What about that Killian?

There she went again, thinking about everyone else before herself.

She heard that he already had a girlfriend overseas.

What kind of life was she going to choose?

A life where everyone saw her as a homewrecker?

Or a life where they saw her as a snake?

"Think about it first. I'll talk to Mr. Veyne if you refuse."

She knew that all her brother wanted was for her to be happy and, above all, not to be humiliated.

They both turned toward the door when someone entered the room again.

It was Cally.

She was never late when it came to gossip.

"Are you okay?"

She asked worriedly, but she was being a little too dramatic.

"I'm going downstairs."

Her brother left for a while so she could talk to Cally.

"What the hell?! Why didn't you tell me? I thought we weren't supposed to keep anything from each other!"

She lightly smacked her shoulder several times.

"Hey...you're really preggy!"

Cally laughed at her.

At least with her, she could laugh.

Around her, she didn't feel any pressure.

"Sorry...but...is the father handsome? Because if he's handsome, I get why that baby happened...hahaha, just kidding, bes. Are you really okay? But is the father really handsome?"

Cally asked without any filter.

"Shut up...Yes, he's handsome, but he's an asshole."

She wiped her tears first so they wouldn't talk about what had happened.

"Yieieieie...I wish I was the one who had a one-night stand with him...but I'm joking again, okay? I heard that asshole is getting married."

She hugged her.

"So, what did your brother say? He got angry, right? It's going to be okay, bes..."

She gently patted her shoulder.

This was exactly what she needed right now.

A best friend who was painfully honest, but would never, ever be fake with her.
