Chapter 9: It's A Scavo Thing

LES’ P.O.V

I heard her swallow on the other end of the line.

“Please hold on,” she said, and from my point of view, I watched her ease out of bed and head for the bathroom. I wished there was a camera there too. Maybe I should have one installed just so I can watch her.

Some part of me, the decent part that I had created to overshadow my past self screamed at me that I would be invading her privacy.

Then the other part of me, the one that made up majority of who I am and is also the one I try to keep buried doesn't even give a fuck about her privacy.

She gave that up the moment she had that gun to her head.

When I found the balcony doors open and my uncle about to sleepwalk to his death, it had felt like watching a bad TV soap opera and deep inside, I was rooting for the fall.
