Chapter 4 – A Seductress
Kiara’s POV
On the next day, the discussions went peacefully, without me interrupting or questioning again because in all fairness there was nothing to question anymore.
“What time are you coming home again tonight?” my mother asked as I was about to head out of our house and go to my work. I lifted my bag that contains my high heels and clothes to change into after my work. For my costumes and dresses, they are left in the club and the manager would be in charge of those, and besides I cannot take them home coz mom might flip she finds them in my closet.
“Of course mom, when I am done with my job.” I chuckled and tried to enlighten the mood coz I know that she is worried about me.
“Kiara, why don’t you just find another job instead? Something that would not require you to stay up so late at night.”
“I… will look onto that, mom, but so far, this is the highest paying job I can get right now which can cover all our bills… But don’t worry, I look for more, alright? I have to go now.” I said and kissed her on the cheek before I neared my little brother who was doing his assignment in the dining table.
I tapped his head and said,
“Look after mom, okay? Call me if anything happens.” I said and he just nodded before going back on his task.
I took my usual route and get on a bus. In just almost an hour due to the heavy traffic even though it is already night, I arrived at Desire Night Club. Walking straight to the entrance, I nodded to the guards or people call it bouncers. They recognized that I work here and so they did not make me go on the queue line anymore and just let me inside. I went immediately to our dressing room and started preparing and dressing up. I wore a red skimpy cloth, a tight and very short skirt and a tube, which both were made of very thin fabric, and had bling decorations of it. I fixed my make up and let my wavy hair down. And when I am done, lastly, I wore my killer heels and stood up. During my first days in this job, I struggled standing and walking, even worse in dancing in these very high heels. I had even undergone a some sort of training and help from the boss and from my fellow ladies here, they taught me how to walk seductively, how to dance, and walk on these shoes. It was tough, until I got used to it, and now, I can easily move with them.
“Alright ladies, your group’s turn now. Come on out.” Madame said and motioned us to move to the open stage already. There are 6 of us who danced on the stage. Just like what I always do, I blocked the cheers and inappropriate remarks from the male audience, that is already common here, I just have to ignore it and swallow my ego.
I held on the pole and curled my leg on it while I bend my back, lifting my other hand on the air. I twirled, going with the melody’s tempo, swaying my hips, playing my hair.
We danced for almost an hour before Madame called our attention, so we glanced at her while still performing. She pointed at me, then at Lea worked here longer than me, then at one other girl, probably a new recruit. We stepped down the staged and another three girls replaced us.
“You three, I need you to go to VIP room 4. They requested some dancers there… Remember, they are VIPs. If you guys are lucky enough, you might get a huge tip from them… I will be checking you from time to time.” Madame said and we nodded before walking out of the open floor.
“VIPs, ah, I love them. I hope we could get a lot from this!” Lea uttered with a big smile on her face, then she turned to me.
“K, isn’t it that you need money the most? Your mother’s sick, how is she now?”
“She is doing fine. I can get her timely dialysis now. So I really have to perform too on VIPs.” I replied.
“Yeah, VIP is nice, tho there are some a-sshoes sometimes but they have manageable, and the boss can protect us as well… Here is Hila by the way, just like you years ago, she is still starting and learning.” Lea said introducing the new girl to me.
“Hi.” I smiled and she also waved at me.
“If you don’t mind me asking, what brought you here?” I asked because I do not think so that just any lady here had dreamed to be a stripper. There is always a reason behind it. Even though they would say now that being stripper is fine with them, I believe that at their start, they were also like me who does not know what to do, who had doubts, who had reservations and other thoughts questioning our self-integrity and dignity.
“I need money.” she simply replied and shrugged her shoulders.
Yeah, money. Just like if not all of us then I would say most of us here needed that is why we entered this job. People may say that there are a lot of jobs out there, more dignifying, which does not include showing off your body and entertaining men. It is easy for them to say that, but everyone has a different situation. There are a lot of factors that must be required in getting other job, qualification, skills, backer, salary amount versus amount of money you need, body condition, availability, time, and the chances you have against the number of applicants.
Just because we are doing it doesn’t mean that we fully heartedly wanted it.
Lea knocked on the door and a man in an expensive suit opened the door and the others who are in the room cheered. The man went back on the couch and that area of the room was deprived of light so we cannot clearly see the faces of the clients and recognize them especially that on our area the dance floor, it is well lighted, and it would be bad and weird to go close to them just to know their identity because we have a rule. We did not bother knowing who the clients are since it is also part of our job to keep the identity of the clients to be confidential. What we see and hear in the night club remains in the night club, once our shift is over and we stepped out of the exit of the club, everything we saw and encountered inside must be forgotten.
Lea played a slow song and we started dancing on the slow beat.
I then started swaying my body, feeling the rhythm in my bones, letting the cold air from the room to touch my bare skin. Lea went on the pole and did her routine while I and Hila kept on dancing.
While I was moving my hips, grazing my skin with my fingertips, moving my hands in the air, I blocked the cheers from our clients as they also continued drinking their alcohol and some were talking to each other as if discussing something but I do not understand. If I am not mistaken, there are 6 men inside this room since I saw 6 figures in the shadow of the dark when we entered.
I turned around from the clients and think. Since we stepped in this room and we started dancing, I felt like there was something wrong. Someone must be boring their eyes on me, scrutinizing me or something. I can feel his burning gaze on my body. How do I know? Everyone can have that weird feeling when someone is staring at them without their knowledge, just like when you feel like someone is following you in a dark street, or someone is watching your back. It is just an eerie and uncomfortable feeling.
Third Person POV
Kiara kept on dancing on the song, swaying her hips, moving her arms in the air, but what she did not know was there is someone in the dark, watching her close, not taking his eyes on her, on her beautiful face, her doe innocent eyes, her kissable virgin lips.
When she felt that something was off and she had a weird feeling that there is a pair of eyes watching her since the beginning of their performance, she frowned and she secretly roamed her eyes in the dark while she continued dancing and at the same time she is adjusting her vision to accommodate the darkness of the couch where the clients were sitting and drinking. Some of the men in there, continued drinking and some were already drunk, laughing and talking with their business partners, but Phoenix was quiet.
Yes, Phoenix Van Ramirez was one of the clients in that room. His business partners had decided to go to the night club and he was dragged there as well, but it was not his first time to attend such club anyway, and he thought that it would be a good way to chill.
But what he never expected on his visit in the Desire Night Club was that he would actually encounter someone he never expected to see.
His eyes still cannot believe of what he was seeing. The timid and intelligent Kiara Stones of Architecture Department in Himalaya University is in front of him, dancing in a lewd song with only a thin small piece of fabric on her body that can easily be ripped off.
His jaw tightened as he watched her body move in the slow music……

Chapter 46 - He Is Not Like Father!Morning came and Kiara had an earful lecture from her mother while they have their coffee to cure her aching head though she did not drink too much last night yet her head was aching and she was thankful that Phoenix gave her an off today and actually she does not remember James telling it to her, glad he told her mom. Kiara might be pulling a bit string on Phoenix for this day off from her and it is still her second day at work, she is kind of glad that she is not entering work today and might bump into Stacey again.“I understand everything now, mom.” Kiara said, hearing her mother repeatedly reminds her of getting hurt because of those wealthy people.“You do not usually drink, Kiara, and you only do it when there is something heavy both
Chapter 45 – We’re All Messed Up“Friends with benefits, they do.” James replied and Kiara’s face dropped.“I don’t give him benefits like that.” She replied, knowing exactly what James was talking about.“Did you ask him?” he asked.Kiara frowned in puzzlement. “Ask? Ask him what?”“What you two really are.”And that was when it dawned to her. There was never a clear verbal affirmation from Phoenix. He never told her that he loves her.“Do… do you think should I ask him that?” she wondered, and her head was not taking the alcohol lightly anymore, however, she can still think properly to process everything that James was telling her.“I do not know… I mean, so that you would know what to do. You cannot love him still and be a martyr if he does not feel the same way right?”“And
Chapter 44 – Friends Don’t KissThe day ended with Kiara ignoring Phoenix’s calls and messages, asking where she is. She walked on the streets of Garse, getting lost in her thoughts and in the crowd of people passing by, letting her feet take her wherever it goes, and wondering how her life turned to be this complicated just because of love. If only… If only she had not fallen for him in the first place, then everything should have been better and less complicated. It would have been just her, an architect, working in a company, having daily work routines, and not getting too much to think about her boss whom eventually she fell in love with. Tough luck!Everything should have stayed in their places. No crossing of boundaries. No going beyond the limits. But then, it already happened, and it is not like they can still turn back the time and fix it all up in the beginning just to avoid the complications off today.
Chapter 43 – A Game He Can PlayThird Person POVWhile Kiara and Phoenix were tidying the table and putting aside the plates they used for lunch, they both looked at the door when it bursts open, and there stood the surprised yet pissed off Stacey Morgan.“Who are you?!” she asked, closing the door behind her.Phoenix glanced at Kiara and she avoided his gaze, finishing in cleaning the table. He stood up then and faced Stacey.“This... is Kiar—“ Phoenix was cut off when Stacey recognized her familiarity.“Wait, I know you. I’ve seen you before. You’re a friend of one of Phoenix’s maid, isn’t it? What are you doing here? And Phoenix did you just eat lunch with her?”“Shut it Stacey. This is Architect Kiara Stones.” Phoenix retorted with a reprimanding tone. The he added with a clear annoyance in his voic
Chapter 42 – A Foreseen DestructionThird Person POVWhen Kiara had already signed both the contract for the project and as an employed Architect of the Ramirez Hotels, she then resigned in the Desire Night Club. It was such a relief to her that finally she was now free, free from that place and job, though yes, it had helped her in her finances and bills, she is thankful for it, however, she had never loved the job she had, but he had no choice. She wore her corporate attire and stilettos since she won’t be going in the field to check the location and she will be staying in the company for now to have more discussion and modification if there are needed. And besides, the location is in Singapore so for now she won’t be going there, only when the building starts. She bade goodbye to her mother before she walked out of their apartment and walked to the roadside, waving to a taxi. It probably won&
Chapter 41 – His Family’s Capability To DestroyThird Person POV“What are yo—“ Phoenix was cut off as James spoke.“I know you. And I know how you can mess things up.” James shrugged, and he turned around and entered the establishment as the other engineers waved at him to their table.“What does he mean?” Kiara curiously asked.“Nothing. Don’t mind him.” Phoenix replied yet he knows that there is some truth in his cousin’s statement. If he is not careful, what he and Kiara has could crumble into ashes. They followed James inside and the Engr. Paula and Gregory stood up to greet Phoenix.“It’s nice you could join us tonight, sir.” Paula said and she and Gregory noticed his hand on Kiara’s back, yet they did not judge her or anything, they just smiled at Kiara. They do not see her as s
