Comfort Food & Regrets

Winifred Crest was terribly embarrassed as she walked into the lobby of The Ruby Tulip Hotel. She was only in town for a few days and felt like staying in a hotel instead of her place in Manhattan.

Wayne’s bodyguards had dropped her off like a discarded tissue a couple of minutes ago. Her hair was wildly tousled and her makeup was streaked across her face from all the tossing around while she had been carried out.

She was certainly a sight for sore eyes and she noticed the way the receptionist’s eyes widened when she approached the desk for her room key. The receptionist was a nice looking woman and seemed to be around twenty seven years old, which would make her just a year older than Winifred.

She tried to hide the shock on her face as she smiled, but Winifred had already seen it and that made her angrier than ever,

Oh, little Miss Polite and Sweet must be so happy to see me back here, Winifred thought in annoyance as she recalled the conversat
