It was awkward being around the Leonardo after he confessed his feelings in front of Alessandro.

And it was even worse because Eve worked closely with him on finalising the contract with the Stark Corporation.

On his part, he avoided making eye contact with her as well, and Eve felt sad because he was the only true friend she had.

Leonardo was the only one who knew her real identity without thinking of ways to rip her of one thing or the other.

He had been so supportive and accommodating, and Eve was sad to see that he was also avoiding her.

On the third day, the day Alessandro was supposed to sign the contract with the both legal teams present, Eve entered the conference room earlier to have a quiet time and go through the documents.

But Leonardo was seated by the side, and he froze as soon as she came in.

A pang of guilt slammed into her.

"Hey, Leo." Eve started in a quiet voice.

It was the first time she was going to be spending time alone with him ever since that day.
