Eleja Juarez: POV
"Hahaha! Go ahead, Elijah Juarez, have your fun, because tomorrow, that smile will vanish! I heard a woman's voice as I walked to the dressing room to put on my crystal-like wedding gown. But I ignored it,' no matter what that woman said nothing could separate me and Leandro, once we were married beacuse , I need to hurry ,' my husband was waiting. Despite the unsettling words, I pushed them aside, unwilling to ruin our wedding. "A grand wedding is taking place at Hacienda Ferman." The only sounds were enchanting music, the decorations surrounding the hacienda, and beautiful white flowers that resembled clouds. I am Eleja Juarez, the lucky bride of Leandro Ferman, a Billionaire and the only son of the Ferman family. He's desirable to many women, but I'm the only one he chose from the moment he first saw me. It was love at first sight, a memory that still makes me blush. Our wedding was attended by cousins, godparents, friends, and other wealthy families from around the world. I was overjoyed even knowing many disapproved of our marriage. I was happy because I knew Leandro loved me deeply. He fought for our love and now we were married. I couldn't ask for more, he's kind and loving. While Leandro chatted with our guests, I stood alone. No one approached to congratulate me. I expected this, though. What mattered was my happiness with the man I'd spend my life with." I didn't care what others thought. Then Leandro called me over. "Honey… come here," he said, kissing my forehead. "Why are you alone? Join us! This is our special day, honey." I smiled broadly to hide my discomfort. I knew I'd be tongue-tied if they spoke to me directly, and I felt out of place. I knew they didn't truly welcome me. A beautiful, elegant woman approached. Her sophistication was evident in her speech, attire, and jewelry. She looked like a celebrity. How could Leandro choose me over women like her? I wondered. "Congratulations, Mrs. Ferman! The gown suits you perfectly. I love it," Furtiza Monteroso said, her voice laced with a hint of envy. "When will I get to wear something so beautiful?" I smiled, trying to convey happiness despite feeling belittled. Many guests had complete families, while I had none at my wedding. I'd sent invitations, but no one came. Perhaps they were embarrassed, or maybe they simply didn't want to attend. "Where is your family? Or relatives? Because… I wonder why they aren't here on your wedding day? Maybe they didn't have fancy clothes?" Furtiza asked with a smirk. "Maybe they were busy," I replied. "And yes, I'm incredibly happy. Thank you for your heartfelt congratulations. I hope you'll find a handsome billionaire husband someday." She seemed irritated by my response. "Really? You're happy even though many disapprove? Don't you notice everyone's talking about you? You don't belong in this family," she whispered, her face close to my ear. Her words stung. Leandro immediately embraced me, cutting Furtiza off. He must have noticed her unkindness and offered me support. Furtiza was the woman his family wanted him to marry. I still don't understand why he chose me. Time flew by, and guests began to leave. Leandro's close friend, Bernard, approached. "Congratulations, Eleja Juarez… I mean, Eleja Ferman. You look so beautiful," he said. Everyone knew Bernard had feelings for me, adding fuel to the family gossip. Leandro knew about Bernard's feelings, and it was fine with him. I loved Leandro. But then everything changed. A call came from Singapore, where Leandro's father was. "Señorito Leandro! A call from your hacienda in Singapore. He needs to speak with you urgently," a servant announced. Guests were leaving, leaving only relatives, Furtiza, Bernard, and the remaining servants. "Just a moment, honey. I'll take this call," Leandro said, leaving me with his relatives, who stared at me with disdain. "Looks like there's a problem with my Uncle Enrick in Singapore. Leandro will surely go there," Furtiza said. I listened, feeling numb. Hours passed without Leandro. Furtiza and Bernard chatted happily. I sat alone. Then I saw Leandro approaching. His face was unreadable – sad or angry? I just hoped his father was alright. "Bernard, Furtiza, Eleja and I need to talk privately. You take care of the remaining guests," Leandro said, and we left for the mansion. Once inside, he spoke seriously, making me nervous. "What's happening? Is Papa alright?" I asked.“Elijah, do you know anything about what’s happening?!” Lejandro’s face was serious as he asked those words. “I don’t know anything!” “Go to Tiffani, and I’ll follow Mom!” Lejandro said. He then left Elijah at the mansion. Elijah immediately called Erick. “Hello, Erick! Hurry! Go to Mountain Road now! Watch for Donya Donita’s car! Do whatever you want with her! I just want her gone from my sight!” Elijah ordered. “Uhmmmm…” Erick replied with a long sigh. Elijah noticed it right away and snapped, “Fine! I’ll come to you tomorrow morning!” His shout made Erick quickly answer, “Yes,” and he immediately left to go after Donya Donita. Meanwhile, Raquel’s car was behind the police vehicle that was chasing Donya Donita. “Atty. Donna, let’s stop following her. I know the police will catch her. What we need to do now is expose Elijah—that he is not the real Elijah and that he is the child of Dony—” “Bhhhaaaaggg! Bllllluuuuuuggg!” A series of loud crashes echoed along the Mountain Roa
“What?” How could you not contact us, when we’ve been waiting for your call for a long time, Mom? You didn’t even call us once,” Lejandro said, clearly doubtful, especially after the Boraque family filed a case against his mother. “Lejandro! I don’t have time now to argue with you. I’m here to get money to add to the medicines they’re buying for your father. They’re extremely expensive!” Donita said. “What the—” Ring… ring… ring…! The telephone rang inside the Ferman Mansion. “I’ll answer it,” Lejandro quickly said, because he had really been waiting for a call from a detective he had spoken with a long time ago. “Hello,” Lejandro answered. “Sir Lejandro, is this you?” “Yes, it’s me. How are you?” “It’s a long story, sir. Could we talk privately—where no one can hear us, not even your mother?” “Huh?! Why?” the detective suddenly said, making Elijah and Donita look at him. “Honey, I’m just going outside. What my friend and I will talk about is important,” Lejandro said goodb
“I need to look pitiful in Lejandro’s eyes and even in our child’s eyes, so I can make him believe that Raquel is the bad one and not me! But what will I do about the case Raquel filed against me? How did she find out that I’m Donita’s daughter?! That old woman is really a curse! She has to disappear from our lives!” Elijah said angrily while staring at the ceiling of their room. While thinking about where to start looking for her mother. “Why are you still awake? What’s bothering you, honey?” Lejandro asked gently, though inside he was filled with fear and anxiety because of the disappearance of their child, Lucifer. “Go to sleep, honey. We’re leaving early tomorrow to look for Lucifer. But before that, I still need to go to Raquel to talk to her and continue the lawsuit,” she said. “Are you sure you’ll continue the case against Raquel?” Lejandro asked. “Yes! Our child is important, Lejandro! So you can’t change my mind,” Elijah replied. After that, silence ruled between the tw
“A police officer went to the Ferman Mansion and reported the accident.” “Good evening, sir. We’re sorry for disturbing you tonight. I would like to speak with Ma’am Elijah Ferman,” said a policeman. “Just tell me and I’ll relay it to my wife,” Lejandro said. “The child named Lucifer Boraque, who is said to be the child of you and Ma’am Elijah, is missing due to an accident. There was a collision on the highway near Filipina Restaurant, and we are currently looking for the dump truck that hit the vehicle carrying your child.” “We suspect that the same dump truck that hit the car of Ma’am Karen Ramirez is also the one that took Lucifer Boraque!” “WHAT?! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!” Lejandro shouted in a loud voice. Elijah suddenly came out and said, “Who is Karen Ramirez?! I don’t believe my child would just disappear like that! He was only with that Raquel earlier—how did my CHILD disappear?!” Elijah shouted angrily. “Ma’am, it was Raquel’s maid who was with the child. We already br
“I’ve already done what you asked me to do. When are you coming here to the abandoned building?” the man on the other line asked. But Elijah ignored the question and instead said— “Where is the child?” “Is he still alive, or already dead?” Elijah asked. As she spoke, she thought to herself: (What do you take me for, Lejandro? Do you think I’d allow your real son to stay in that mansion? You’re mistaken. I only did all of this to make Raquel look even worse in your eyes.) Elijah smiled to herself while listening to the man on the other end of the line. “The child is still alive. But I don’t know how long he’ll last. It looks like he hit his head badly, so he still hasn’t regained consciousness,” the man replied. “So what do you want me to do with the kid? Do you want me to finish him off, or bury him alive?” “No! Watch your mouth, Erick. You’re being too brutal,” Elijah snapped. “Don’t worry. I’ll be sending a doctor there from Doque Hospital. I may be evil, but I still have
“What kidnapping are you talking about? My child, Lucifer, was not kidnapped!” Raquel said firmly. “He is truly my son, and I am truly his mother. You have no right to accuse us like that and disturb us during our own family dinner. What kind of nonsense is this?!” Raquel remained calm as she continued eating the food she had ordered. (“What I feared the most has finally happened! This is exactly what I was afraid would happen to my child. You are so cruel, Lejandro!”) Raquel thought to herself as she struggled to calm down. Meanwhile, Lucifer could not understand what was happening, although he did know what the word “kidnapped” meant. “I’m very sorry, ma’am. They suddenly entered, and no matter how much I tried to stop them, they wouldn’t listen,” the waitress said apologetically. “Don’t worry. You may go now,” Raquel replied, then turned to the two prosecutors/police officers. “Have a seat and join us for dinner.” “We are not here to—” “I know you’re not here to eat. So wher
