Chapter 26

Amelia walked out of the room, leaving Andrew and Henry. She could feel the hurt and confusion swirling inside her.

As she made her way down the hallway, she could hear Andrew and Henry's voices growing fainter behind her. She tried to shake off the feelings of anger and betrayal that were welling up inside her, but they clung to her like a heavy weight.

How could Andrew treat her like that? She was only in this marriage because of her father.

"Listen to me, Andrew," Henry said, his voice low and urgent. "You need to tell Detective Stone to look deeper. I have nothing to do with your accident."

Henry couldn't stand to be in that room with Andrew any longer. The tension was suffocating, and he needed to get out before he lost his temper.

He followed Amelia out of the room, his heart heavy with worry. She was upset, he could tell, and he hated to see her that way.

"Amelia," he called out as he caught up to her in the kitchen. "Are you okay?"

She turned to face him, her eyes red-rimmed
