Adrian’s POV

The sharp click of my Italian leather shoes echoed through the marble floors of my penthouse office.

I loosened my tie and slid into the chair behind my desk. Within seconds, the glass door opened.

“Good morning, Mr. Knight,” Timothy said as he stepped inside, tablet in hand and already scrolling through notes. Sharp suit, punctual as always. I hired him for his competence, not his charm.

“Timothy,” I greeted with a nod. “Sit. We’ve got work.”

He took the chair opposite mine and handed me the tablet. “Three pressing items for today: The Singapore merger, the acquisition meeting with HunterTech, and a media response about your recent absence from the gala.”

I scoffed. “I don’t care what they print. As long as our stock is stable and the board is satisfied, the press can cry about it over cocktails.”
