Chapter 3

Aviena's POV

“What? Who's going to get married? Did I even agree to this?! No way in high I'll marry someone I barely know!” I can't stop screaming. I can see Big Sister's restraint as she looks at me now.

Irritated, I even turned off the phone.

"That's two years… I can't do that… My career isn't over yet… I'm not a beggar right now." I was still stubborn and had no real intention of following what she wants. I'm almost just starting to boost my career but look what happened. I haven't even been able to save money on my own. I don’t even have a business built yet. I said I'll buy my family a big house but where did I  go now? I'm just getting a headache.

"You're not sure with that, stupid!" she said so I couldn't stop biting my lip. I know. I know but still, I trust myself. Marriage is sacred. I can't afford to suddenly marry someone I don't love.

“Vena…” I looked at her as her voice calmed down. I know what she's going to say and I already know what the consequences of this conversation will be.

"I… I already ask for money…" she said, unable to look at me now.

“You… You what?” My lips just became wide open as I looked at her.

“Some of the companies are making you look bad, you have violated the contract. They are asking for the damages… I… I already paid for some using your fiance's money. ” She let out another sigh as if she was struggling with this decision too.

“And I already receive the house…” I immediately looked at her because of what she was saying.

"What?" I couldn't believe it when I looked at her. Is this some kind of bullshit? Really? In just about half a day she was able to do all that?

“Vena…” She still held my hand.

"Please… Marry him for us, please… I'll be imprisoned if you don't…" she said so the cold look remained from me. I couldn’t avoid the irritation I felt. She really knows how to get me.

“Fine…” I just averted my eyes while feeling the strength of my heartbeat at the idea that I would marry someone I didn't know very well.

“You can come in, Atasha!” Big Sister shouted so I immediately turned to her. Atasha, my designer, entered immediately. I couldn’t help but wince as I looked at the two of them and Ate. They plan this! Because Atasha immediately brought a gown and I was ready to fix it.

I just frowned as I sat in front of the mirror.

“Well, why are you frowning? Your future husband is very handsome. If I could just swap with you, I would. ” She was still laughing so I couldn't help but shake.

"You already have your own businessman." I just smiled when she stared.

"Your sister likes to make you do things you don't like, huh?" she asked me. I did not speak.

Atasha is a famous designer. She likes my face a lot so even though she doesn't have a job as a makeup artist, she does it for me.

"Thanks." I smiled at her when she finished fixing my face.

“You are not at a loss. River is a nice person, just snobbish. ” She kissed me on the cheeks before she bid her goodbye.

"I'll give you stitch and barney clothes after your wedding!"

"How about stuff toys?" I asked, slightly excited by what she said.

"I'll get you that too."

"Thank you, Atasha!"

"Good luck with your wedding!" She waved at me. The smile disappeared from my lips when Ate and I were alone.

She has not spoken so far. She will be nice to me for those weeks because I did something she wanted. Or should I say I'll be doing something she wants me to do?

Big Sister's tongue is sharp that's why she's trying not to say anything now that we're here. I just kept quiet as I followed her out of my condo.

I was about to get in the car when a limousine parked in front of me. My lips parted when some bodyguards came out and helped me to enter.

"Sir River's already there, Ma'am." The stance of the people in front of me today is very formal. I just nodded before following them.

I turned to Big Sister who was still outside. I got in the car.

This is not the first time I have ridden in the Limousine but this is the first time I felt like my chest was about to burst. It was as if I couldn’t breathe with the nervousness I was feeling. I also don’t know if the thinking is right but part of me is a little bit excited. Wow, you even got to feel the excitement, Vena.

I just played with my finger while looking outside. When the car stopped, it was as if my heart stopped beating.

I was guided by some bodyguards. We're in Mayor's house. I was just biting my lip when I was greeted by a man with ocean-colored eyes.

He even managed to watch me from head to toe. The body that most of the man lust for. But this man, after he looked at my body, he reluctantly put it back on my face. I can't help but be embarrassed. I know that he already has a lot of women he met. Most of them are sexy stars too that's why it seems normal for him to see such a body. I know I have such a good and sexy body.

“What are you waiting for? I still have a lot of things to do. Let’s go. ” I can’t help but frown.

"Where's the contract?" I asked him. Because I can't get married without knowing the content of the contract. He turned to me and frowned.

"Oh, what? What do you want to happen? I will marry you without knowing what our agreement is? ” I raised an eyebrow at him before folding my arms. He smiled so I frowned.

"You think if you read the contract you can still run away from this wedding?" he asked smiling at me now. I can't stop frowning. This is the reason why they said that he's a devil in disguise in a tuxedo.

“Your sister already asks for half a billion. You think you can still manage to pay for it?” My lip was left open because of that.

"Huh?" I can’t help but be surprised. Even my few years of acting have not been able to pay for that. I don’t have that much money yet! Big Sister doesn't think!

“Mr. Savellano, Mayor's already waiting for both of you,” the young woman said. River nodded before turning to me.

"Let's go." I didn’t have a choice but to follow him. I was also looking for my car but I couldn’t find it. The Mayor's house is private but large.

"But I still have the say in our contract, right?" I asked him. My knee seemed to be weakening because of what was heard. He turned to me. I could not read the expression on its face.

"Fine." He didn't look back at me and greeted the Mayor who still seemed to be waiting for us.

Mayor is still young, he is just the same age as River so he is also part of the group they call Bachelors.

They are talking about something before Mayor Vernon turns to me. He smiled at me, a smile that seemed mixed with politics.

"Vernon." I accepted the hand he held out to me.

"Good evening, Mayor," I said.

"Let's start the signing." River's cold voice just grabbed our attention. He's too excited to get married to me, huh? I'm so pretty.

The signing soon began. It was only for a while because River was also in a hurry. I think he still has meeting and work. Earlier, there was still a phone call on his phone.

"Isn't there a kiss?" They looked at me when I told them what was on my mind. I almost choked on my saliva because of that. I couldn’t stop laughing.

“Just kidding. You look very serious, both of you, ”I said because they both had serious faces while signing the contract.

Mayor laughed while River just went back to what he was doing. I gasped as I stared at him. So I won't have any response from him, huh?

“Let’s go. We still have a lot of talking to do, ”he told me.

"Just talking?" I asked, still smiling at him. I don't know why I want to get any reaction from him. It's just that I'm looking at a human statue while I was staring at him.

He also ignored the smirk on my lips and walked ahead. Some of the Mayor's staff greeted him while some just looked at me as if I was new to their eyes. Don't they know me? I'm just Vena, right?

We rode in a Lamborghini. I wasn't surprised. On River's face, he doesn't look like he's running out of money. He even raised an eyebrow at me but I still didn’t take my eyes off him.

I wonder why did he marry me? Does he like me? Maybe he fell in love at first sight with me? How pretending if that's the case. I don’t know if I’ll laugh at my thoughts or what. I was assuming so many things right now. Maybe he's my fan then?

"Do you want a fansign?" I asked him so he immediately frowned at me.

"You're one of my fanboys, aren't you?" I even smiled at him. I was slightly surprised when he laugh and insulted when he heard what I said. It seems like what I’m saying to him is so impossible to happen.

I just clenched my fist and frowned slightly because he looked like I was ugly for him to laugh.

"My grandfather wants to marry me off."

“And you…” He turned to me when we stopped because of the traffic lights.

“You need to use someone for your career, right?” he asked me. I immediately met his blue eyes. It's as if I'm constantly shaking because of his eyes. He turned his eyes back to the road when the traffic lights changed color.

“You're the only choice. And you seem slightly fine to me. ” I can't believe I looked at him. Is he insulting me right now?

“What? What was that?! You're not a loss here! I'm pretty and have a nice body!” I can’t stop shouting it out. Then I just realized what was done. I'm supposed to act like an elegant woman right now but here I am shouting my lungs out. My childish side is coming out again.

I could see his eyebrows raise and the smirk on his lips.

I was stunned and couldn’t help but frown the whole trip. The thickness of his face. I'm beautiful. Hot yet! Most of the boy celebrities have a crush on me.  What does he mean there? Slightly fine, huh?

"You should be thankful that you're handsome," I whispered to myself.

"Thanks." I glare at him when I heard what he said. The face is just serious but he's even more annoying.

I stopped talking and I would be scolded by Big Sister when I found out I was screaming again. 

On the very short trip, we arrived at a mansion.

I was about to go down and remove the seatbelt when he was the one who did it. I felt like my heart stopped beating when he stopped what he was doing. I could feel his eyes on me. I tried to ignore those blue eyes he have.

My lips parted when I felt his lips on mine. It was as if my stomach turned upside down and butterflies were now moving around it.
