Chapter 4

Aviena's POV

"What the heck did you just do?" I immediately pushed him when I finally calm down. I couldn’t help but feel irritated when I saw the smirk on his lips.

“I’m just trying to be a good husband. My wife wants a kiss. I just give you one,” he said before finally removing the seatbelt and getting out of his car. Some guards waiting for us opened the door for me.

“That perv…” I can't even show anger because there are other people around.

“What are you still doing? Move faster. Don't waste my time. ” I just secretly glared at him.

I even pretended to smile before continuing to walk closer to him. I feel irritated while looking at him.

My lips parted as I looked at the large mansion he have. I'm used to seeing big houses because there are rich people around me but this house is just so big. Do people who live here still see each other every day?

"You're the only one living here?" I asked him. He looked at me for a moment before nodding.

We were greeted by some of his maids. They look like they were wondering when they look at me. Some are amazed. Some are very nice to me. I just smiled at them.

I couldn’t help but look around. He seems to have so many luxury things here. I don't like things like that. Scary to touch. Scary to look at. I just smiled bitterly to myself before averting my eyes from those things.

"Your food is ready, Sir," a woman said to him. He was still secretly looking at me so I just smiled at her. Pretending to be elegant again. I can still hear the two of them whispering with each other. 

"Just bring it to my room," River said so my eyes immediately widened.

"Huh?" I immediately approached him and whispered.

“We just got married. We didn't agree that there will be a miracle that will happen between the two of us,” I said looking at him with disbelief. He frowned at me but suddenly the grin on his lips curved. He looks so good but when he's smirking I feel like I need to be scared. He's dangerous, to begin with.

"What?" I stared at him. He brought his face close to my ear before whispering.

"I thought you aren't a fan of just talking?" he asked. Immediately my eyes widened.

"H-hey!" I stopped following him and even hugged myself. I can still see the playful grin on his lips.

"I'm just kidding," he said but I couldn't step on my feet. I can also see the looks of some of his housemaids. I'm sure they're already talking about how easy I am. Easy going to bed with boys. 

I was a little sad. I know that I must be used to people thinking of me, I must be used to all the criticism I receive but I just can't help but feel bad. Maybe because I can't even say what I feel. I can’t even bring out the truth. Who I am.

"Do you want to talk in the living room instead?" River asked sharply as I just stopped.

"No need." I just shook my head because I also didn't want them to feast on looking at us.

My lips parted when I realized that he was going to take me to the study room. He raised an eyebrow at me.

He seems like he wanted to say ‘You just have a dirty mind’. I can’t help but rolled my eyes.

I sat down on his sofa when I entered, not waiting for him to invite me.

“So… Why do you need a wife?” I asked before folding my arms.

"My grandfather keeps on pushing me to have one." I smiled there.

“Don’t you have any girlfriend? I heard that your venom has reached other countries?” I ask. He already knows some side of me. I no longer have to hide who I am. We will be together for another two years, he should be the one who adjusts.

“They are clingy. I don't want to end up getting married for the rest of my life.” I can't help but shrug there. I do feel what he feels. I don't want to get married too. I just want to be a rich auntie at the moment.

I shrugged my shoulders. Well, I think I can be clingy to someone I like but since I don't like him, he won't have a problem with that.

He sat across from me before handing me the contract. He was just looking at some of his papers while I was reading the contract.

"Just tell me what you wanted to change." I didn't speak and just read the contract seriously.

“I thought this contract is purely for your grandfather? Then why aren't we allowed to date? ” Aside from the fact that I'll be needing to meet a lot of guys because of the contract, love teams in showbiz are unavoidable. And when it comes to him, I know he has a lot of girls. It was impossible for him not to flirt with a woman in two years. Yes, he looks cold outside but he is full of girls in the newspapers.

"Also, don't expect that I'll be giving you a wife's duty,” I said with a smile before whispering to him.

"What?"

"No sexual interaction," I smiled there. If he thought he could touch me because we're now married, he was mistaken there. I raised an eyebrow at him. There was no change in his expression.

"That's fine with me."

"But we can kiss in front of your grandfather or hold hands, that's not new to me," I said while writing the changes I want. I turned to him. I could see he looked irritated with what he was reading.

"Let's change this to 'no meddling with each other's business unless the person is damaging the reputation of each other'." He looked at me because of what I said. Meet the eyebrow now.

“So you can have sex or date, other girls, just make sure you are not seen. Just make sure that my reputation is not damaged. ”

“Don’t revise it. We are also married, there is nothing you can do,” he said as he stood up and was about to leave me. He didn’t seem happy with the changes I was making to the contract but I immediately touched the hem of his long sleeve.

“What?! You promise that I'll have a say in this contract! ” I shouted at him. He just restrain himself and he did not say a word.

“It's up to you! I will go to the Mayor and ask for a divorce! ” I couldn’t stop screaming because he wasn’t listening to me. He was still straight to the exit. His study room is soundproof so it's completely fine to shout here.

"Fine," he said as if he can't take my noise any longer.

"Stop shouting, you're hurting my ears." He glared at me so I just roll my eyes. 

I was silent as I read the contract. I did a lot of changes there that he just let go of. He still looks irritated at me as he watches me change things.

"What?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him.

“No personal feelings should be involved. In short, you must not fall for me. ” I even smiled at him so he raised an eyebrow at me before laughing.

"As if that will happen."

“No personal question should ask. Write it down. ” I was forced to go there before I wrote what he wanted.

“What? Is this okay now? ” I asked him.

"You're the one who keeps on asking for a revision." He just shake his head so I just couldn't stop the pout.

"Wait."

"What is it again?"

"I'll be living here!" My eyes widened. He raised an eyebrow at me before asking.

"What do you even expect?"

I know, right? What am I expecting? That I just got married here and that's it?

“We’re going to stay in one room. Lolo's person will probably spy here in the mansion ” I shrugged my shoulders before nodding.

We are just both serious about our talk, both are professional and both want the contract to be done well.

After our talk, his maid also entered. It's already midnight and we're still messing with their helpers so I'm a little embarrassed too. They are supposed to be sleeping now. 

I still look at my phone while waiting for Big Sister to call me but she's not answering my calls. I don't know where that one is again. I'm the only one who's tired here when she was the one who let me marry someone I don't know about.

“Get your things tomorrow. Just sleep here for the night. It's too late for you to go home,” River said so I turned to him before raising an eyebrow.

“Duh, what are you doing? You have a lot of cars. I will also move here next week, won't you at least give me a chance to have a peaceful life for just a week?” I asked him so he finally let me go.

He also takes me to the condo after I eat. That one wasn't even hungry because he was just staring at his laptop in front of him.

When I finished cleaning my body, I went to bed. I thought I would fall asleep right away because I was tired but I just saw my idiotic self looking at the ceiling while asking myself what I had just done.

Just a day after our wedding but everything seems like some events immediately happened. It seems that the course of destiny has suddenly changed. I don’t know if this is a good sign. I'm not sure.

Just one day but my life changed just by a snap.

"Vena!" Big Sister screamed when she entered the house.

“It’s back to normal again! No… not back because you're having a lot of projects now. More than what you had before!” Big Sister was very excited when she approached me. I couldn't help but frown at her.

"People already know that you're dating River," she said, the reason why I became stunned. I can't stop looking at her because of that. I know her. She's probably the one who did this again. I just kept my judgmental look at her so she immediately shut her mouth.

“I just tip the reporter…” She snorted so I couldn't stop myself from getting tired of her. I just lay down on the bed.

I was just dumbfounded as I stared at the ceiling. I couldn’t help but smile on my lips without realizing it. This contract is not so bad.

I'm not at a loss because River is handsome. The brute is just snobbish and his every move is annoying.

I thought I’ll be able to rest for a week but the number of real projects immediately pumped up. I don't know if it's because of Big Sister's tip to the reporter or because of River. Perks of dating him, huh?

“Let’s go, Vena. There's no time for you to rest. It's a waste of time while your name is still famous. ” Big Sister even smiled at me. As if it was easy to work as an actress.

It's safe to walk around here in my condo because the condo neighbors are rich. Well, Mrs. Del Monte is also rich. That one just really has something in her brain.

My sister and I stopped outside when we saw a man leaning against his Lamborghini while holding his phone.

I couldn’t help but look at River outside my condo. What the heck is he doing there looking so hot without even doing anything?
