Many dances later, Trinity was almost ready to call it a night when Dmitri's mother dragged the couple off to meet someone important who'd joined the wedding late because she'd only just come back from a business trip.
It was Martha Worthington. After her husband's suicide a few years back, she'd taken sole responsibility of their telecom company and handled their business well, not letting it go under even though the company had been under a shit load of debt after her husband's death. The woman had had no clue how to run a business at that time, let alone manage one that was in shambles but she'd done it all. That was one of the main reasons Valéry respected her so much. That and the fact that she was much wiser and older than her, in her late fifties now.
"Martha, this is Trinity, the girl my son has chosen for himself and Trinity, this Martha, a good friend of mine," Valéry introduced them.
<After the revelations on the night of the engagement party, it felt as if some invisible wall had been broken down between Dmitri and Trinity for they felt that much closer to each other, almost as if they understood each other on a much deeper level than before. It went against the whole I-need-to-distance-myself-from-Dmitri resolve Trinity had thought she would follow ever since the last party they'd attended together. But she hadn't been able to achieve much of it in the week leading up to the engagement and now that her secrets were out in the open, it was near impossible to keep her distance from him. So she gave up trying altogether."I'm gonna have to leave for work after the food tasting, babe. Miranda is going to drop by later to discuss possible venues for the wedding. Do you think you'll be able to handle it?" Dmitri asked as he buttoned up his suit jacket before running a hand through his hair almost absentmindedly.
Casey groaned, propping her legs up on Trinity's lap and leaning back. "Who new wedding preparations could be so tiresome. Just go off to Vegas and get married already. Dmitri is anyways too eager to have you all to himself if the way he's been texting you constantly is anything to go by."Trinity flushed, her hands which were busy flying over her phone's keyboard pausing at her friends words. Quickly typing up the rest of her text, she sent it to Dmitri before turning to Casey. "Quit being such a whiney little baby. Tina and I have been here just as long as you and you don't see us complaining."Tina groaned from her other side. "I'm beat too. My back feels stiff from sitting in the same position for so long.""What were you say about no complaining, Tri?""Oh, shut it, you two," Trinity shook her head at her two friends. The three of them a
The big day was approaching fast. The days had flown by in a whirlwind of dress fittings, rehearsals, finalising the decorations, food, guest lists and what not and now, only a day remained. Though both Dmitri and Trinity had been exceedingly busy over seeing everything, they'd always found time to spend with each other, whether it was them having meals together or simply chatting about their day at night."I think having a DJ would be better," Miranda commented, pulling Trinity out of her thoughts.Trinity nodded. "Yeah, a DJ can definitely offer more variety. Book someone. I know it's last minute and we shouldn't have left it until now but over the past few weeks I've realised there's not much a little bit of extra money and an influential name can't get you."Miranda laughed. "You're definitely right about that one."Trinity chuckled lightly before co
The wedding ceremony was like a dreamscape. The disaster with the dress had been successfully tackled for the ball gown silhouette and the numerous layers of the dress meant that that they could take off the few stained ones on the top without it making much of a difference and that's exactly what Rose, Joy and whatever reinforcements they'd brought in had done.Everything after she'd worn the dress (with the help of at least three people) was a bit of a blur. Trinity remembered being so nervous that her hands kept trembling even as Patricia hooked her arm through Trinity's and lead her down the aisle towards her husband- the only man she had eyes for.Dressed in a grey suit, she could tell he looked more handsome than she'd ever seen him before even if her vision was slightly obscured because of her thin veil. She could faintly recall repeating their vows after the priest and exchanging wedding bands when they were aske
Even though there was more than enough space in the limo, Dmitri placed his wife on his lap.Wife. We're actually married. The thought made him grin and he didn't care one bit if he looked like complete lunatic while doing so.Too tired to do much, Trinity didn't protest or tried to wriggle her way to her own seat, choosing to snuggle deeper into his chest instead."We've really done it, haven't we?" Dmitri murmured softly, his chest vibrating with each word.Trinity nodded against his chest. "We have, husband.""Milaya?""Yeah?""Did I tell you how beautiful you looked tonight?"Trinity chuckled lightly. "Only about a dozen or so times.""Good. And even though we said our vows earlier, I have one of my own. I promise you that I'll never let anything
The next day, the newly weds had breakfast together, only the mood was much more subdued than it usually was.It wasn't as if they weren't talking to each other, but things just seemed different. And that was somehow worse.Trinity tried to tell herself that this was how it should be. That this was better, but her heart still hurt. There was an awkwardness in their actions that had never been there before, not even when they'd been practically strangers to each other and Trinity hated it.Dmitri cleared his throat. "So, we're leaving for our honeymoon today, around eleven."Trinity's eyebrows raised. "We are?"Even though they'd gotten married, the fact that they'd eventually go on a honeymoon had never really crossed her mind, mostly because theirs wasn't exactly a traditional marriage.Dmitri nodded. "We are. It'd be su
"Whoa," That was the only thing Trinity could say once she got into the private jet and took a good look at it's interior. She hadn't been on a plane herself before but she'd seen enough movies to know what it's interior looked like. And this definitely surpassed every expectation she'd had.The place they had entered into looked more like a hotel room than anything else. It had a four rows of three plush seats each with a small aisle down the middle which lead to a lounge area, complete with a set of comfortable looking sofas and a glass table. To the side was a wine cabinet and a mini refrigerator with glass doors each so she could actually see all the bottles and chocolates and what not.Behind the lounge was a freaking queen sized bed complete with pillows and blankets on it. At the end was a door which she was assuming lead to a bathroom.Dmitri walked in ahead of
"Dmitri? Wake up, it's seven already," Trinity shook his shoulder lightly, the bright morning sun illuminating his face. After they'd gotten to the hotel last night, which Trinity realised Dmitri was the owner of when the manager practically touched the floor with his nose bowing before him welcome, it was almost night.Of course, their hotel room was as amazing as they came, the only problem being that it was a honeymoon suite. So naturally, it only had one bed.But Dmitri being the gentleman that he was had taken the couch, despite Trinity's vehement protest.Mostly because Trinity had been too excited to actually be in Hawaii, she'd woken up at six. She'd moved quietly so as to not wake up Dmitri who looked too peaceful while sleeping for her to wake him up and taken a quick shower in the larger than life bathroom. Then she'd spent some time tampering around with the thin
