“Ms Pierce, I'm sorry but Emily and Harrison eloped last night”

My heart sank as a guest whispered the devastating truth in my ear with a look of pity on her face.

I had spent months planning every detail of our wedding from the intricate lace on my gown to the delicate flowers on the tables. I was excited to finally start my life with the man who I had loved all my life, the man I thought I knew better than anyone else.

But as the minute ticked by, I realized something was wrong. There was no sign of Harrison. I felt a sense of unease but I waved it aside thinking he was just running late.

When I finally learnt the truth, my heart raced in confusion and disbelief swirled through me. I could barely process what had just been said to me.

Harrison_ the man that was supposed to be my husband had left me at the altar and is set to marry my step-sister.

It was like a punch to the gut, a harsh reminder that, I, Avery Pierce wasn't good enough. The pain and humiliation were overwhelming. I was left standing alone at the altar. My dreams of a perfect wedding and life were shattered.

The days that followed were a blur of tears and heartbreak. I struggled to come to terms with what had just happened. The betrayal was just too much for me to handle. I had trusted Harrison with everything, and he had it all thrown away.

The news of my humiliation spread like wildfire and I became the subject of social media gossip. People couldn't get enough of the juicy story and my name was on everybody's lips

“ Bride abandoned on the altar for her own step-sister”

“The beautiful bride and her wedding day disaster”

“She's so stupid for not knowing her fiancee was cheating in her”

The comments were hurtful, but what hurt more was the realization that I had been blind to Harrison's true nature. When I think about it now, the realization that I was so invested in the relationship and ignored the signs that something was off. He became distant and emotionally unavailable and I kept hoping things could get better.

I thought I knew him but it turns out… Harrison was a f*cking a*shole

          “f*uck! I feel so stupid”

I muttered to myself while grabbing the pillow in a bid to suffocate myself.

Vivian, my step-mother. The woman who had brought chaos and drama into my life. She was my mother's best friend. I remembered the day she married my father, how she had swept into our lives with her charm and beauty. But beneath her polished exterior, she was manipulative and controlling, always getting what she wanted no matter the cost. When my father died, she took over his properties and vast empires without giving me access to any. And then, there was emily her daughter, my step-sister. Both of them were like two peas in a pod, always scheming and plotting.

As I thought about vivan, emily and harrison, I felt a surge of anger and resentment. I felt the need to revenge, the need to stand up for myself and get back all that was taken from me,the need to prove to everyone that I was worth more than just a jilted bride.

“Please dear, you need to eat something” Ma Janet said.

I looked up at Ma Janet, the kind maid who had been with my family for years. She was standing in the doorway with a concerned expression on her face.

“I don't have much of an appetite, Ma Janet,” I said while trying to smile weakly.

Ma Janet came over to me and put a gentle hand on my shoulder.

“You've been through a lot, child. You need to keep your strength up. Let me  make you some soup”

I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. Ma Janet had always been like a mother to me. I lost my mother in a car accident at a very tender age.

I took a deep breath and tried to shake off the feeling of despair that had been weighing me down.

Ma janet came back with a steaming bowl of soup, and the aroma wafted up to me making my stomach growl slightly. I took a tentative spoonful, and the warm liquid slid down my throat, comforting me.

“Thank you, ma Janet,” I said, smiling slightly

She smiled back and patted my hand.

“You're welcome, dear. Now eat up and try to feel a little better” she said as she exited the room.

Just a little bit chaotic” I replied, trying to shake of the lingering tension from my meeting with Vivian. As we drove through the city, the sun began to set, casting a hue across the skyline. Ethan dropped me off at Catherine’s mansion. I walked into the living room, where Catherine was sitting on the couch sipping a tea. Catherine stood up and walked towards me spreading her arms for a big hug. I walked into her arms and she enveloped me in a tight hug “It’s so great to see you dear,” she said. Her eyes sparkled with warmth as she gazed at me. I made my way to the couch and soon enough, Catherine came to join me. “I love your decorations ma” “Oh! Don’t call me Ma, mummy is fine. After all, you’re my daughter now” Catherine teased “You love the decorations right? I love making the house cozy and welcoming for everyone and the new additions” Catherine said with a sly smile on her face “Oh! What kind of additions?” I ignorantly blurted outThe room was filled with Catherine’s laughter at the question “well, I think you know exactly what am hinting at dear. You and Ethan are married now, and I just can’t help but wonder when I’ll ge

Ethan and I walked into the conference room with Racheal and the soft hum of conversation died down as the board of directors turned to greet him. His eyes scanned the room and he took a seat at the head of the table. “Let's review the quarterly projections,” Ethan said with a serious tone that portrays his merciless reputation in the business world. The head of directors stood up and began to present the numbers, highlighting the company's growth and areas of improvement. “I think we should allocate more resources to our digital marketing strategy. The numbers shows it's paying off, and I believe we can scale it up for even greener returns”Ethan nodded thoughtfully. “If the budget for the marketing department is increased, then we will be needing a marketing manager to oversee the affairs.” “Luckily, there's someone who has taken a keen interest in marketing and has some innovative ideas. I think she'd be perfect for the job” Ethan continued.. He stood up from his seat

Ethan gave such a wonderful speech at the gala. I was so proud knowing the man standing over there was my husband. We got to the mansion feeling tired and worn out. As we stepped into the room, I turned to Ethan with a thoughtful expression. “Am thinking about going back to work” I said, my voice filled a uncertainty Ethan raised an eyebrow, intrigued “What kind of work are you thinking of?” He asked as he came closer to me I shrugged, feeling a bit unsure “I'm not sure yet. I just feel like I need to do something meaningful that will challenge me and give me a sense of purpose” Ethan's smile grew wider as he walked close to me. His smile became more mischievous “What is he thinking? I thought to myself. He pulled me closer into a tight hug and whispered to my ear “Why don't you come work for me? I have a role in mind and I think it would be perfect for you” he said, while patting the back of my hair like a baby. “Work for you?” I repeated, unsure of what to make of

The question hung in the air, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. I felt my breath caught up in my throat as I processed his words. “I….” I struggled for words “You don't have to answer, if you're not ready” Ethan cut in looking disappointed “I love you Ethan. I've fallen for you in ways I didn't expect.” A smile broke across Ethan's face “I love you too, Avery. You're my perfect obsession” In that moment, everything else faded away_ the noise of the city and the drama of the gala. All that matters was the connection we shared and the love that blossomed between us. Ethan stepped forward, cupping my round face in his hands as he leaned in for a kiss filled with warmth and passion. He poured all his feelings into that single moment. “my wife is now in love with me” he shouted happily and we both laughed at his childish behavior He kissed me and I melted as I reciprocated the kiss. The most passionate kiss we’ve ever had. I was left gasping for breath when we bro

“Good evening ma'am. I've brought a special gown for the gala tonight "Felicia said as she handed it to me at the door step. My eyes widened in surprise as I took the stunning dress. The gown has a beautiful shade of emerald green with intricate details and flowing silhouette that would accentuate my curves. “It's gorgeous..but I didn't request this gown” “Mr Ethan selected it himself, ma'am. He says it's a surprise for tonight's gala”. My heart swelled with emotions. I and Ethan have been married for over a month now and he can't seem to stop doing amazing things for me. As I descended the stairs, I could see Ethan's eyes widening in awe. I reached the bottom of the stairs and Ethan's face broke into a warm smile. He strode towards where I was, took my hands and kissed it. “You've always been a beautiful lady but you look spectacular tonight.” Ethan proudly said while taking a deep breath like he forgot to breathe. Entering the gala,we commanded attention with our elega
