Glancing at the door again, I heaved a pent up breath in patience. Today was the first day for my twice in a year medical checkup and as usual, I was eagerly anticipating the results of today’s checkup.

The door finally creaked open after quite a while of waiting and Doctor Lana whom I had gotten used, from the past years, reentered the room, bearing a huge grin.

“There's my sweet cupcake, looking as radiant as usual.” she commented cheerfully as she approached.

Her words sieved a giggle out of me, as her smile instantly lit up the entire room.

She was a caring woman from the day I'd known her till date. She was only an intern when I first came to New York and met her at the asylum that housed me in my first year here and she was the one person that freely helped me during the dark times that followed after the breakup.
