CHAPTER FOUR

The car ride was silent and awkward, Lisa focused her gaze out the window, occasionally stealing glance at "Mr ruin my life and act like nothing happened", she didn't like him after what he did but she can't help but admit he was a very handsome man, he looked like he just finished posing for Vogue magazine cover. His jawline was strong and well chiseled, his black hair was cut long enough to be civil.

"Trying to eat me with your eyes?" He asked her, bringing her out of her thoughts, his piercing green gaze, causing a warm blush of red rose in her cheeks.

"I wasn't looking at you" she rolled her eyes, then looked away from him.

"You were?" He tilted his head, smiling with amusement.

"What I was looking at is none of your concern" Lisa replied curtly, Her tone conveying annoyance, at herself, she didn't understand why her body was reacting to him in his matter, she didn't turn to look at him, she had to remind herself she didn't like him very much right now.

Eduardo chuckled, he didn't say anything else. When Eduardo closed his eyes and rested his head on the headboard, Lisa stole a quick glance at him. She noticed how his chiseled jawline relaxed, and his eyes shut with a sense of peace. His breathing was calm and steady, indicating that he was probably taking a quick nap.

The car was moving along the busy streets of Los Angeles, and the sound of the traffic mixed with the soft hum of the car's engine. Eduardo seemed unaffected by the noise, and his face remained serene. The sun was starting to set, and the warm rays cast a golden hue on his angular features.

Lisa couldn't help but feel a pang of envy at how relaxed he looked. She was still tense and anxious, wondering what was going to happen next. Her mind was racing, and she couldn't seem to shake off her apprehension.

Eduardo's head remained still, resting against the soft headboard, as if he was oblivious to Lisa's thoughts. The car continued on its journey, and Lisa was left alone with her thoughts once again. She wondered what it would be like to be able to relax so completely, to be so comfortable in one's own skin that nothing could shake you. For a moment, she felt a twinge of longing, a desire to let go and surrender to the moment. But the feeling was fleeting, and soon, she was back to worrying about what was going to happen next.

She hadn't even asked him where he was taking her to, different thoughts ran through her mind, what if he was trying to kill her? The voices in her head asked, she shook it off, not like he had anything to gain by doing so.

The car slowly pulled up to a stop in front of a 2 storey building in the heart of Los Angeles, she had to stop her jaw from dropping.

"Mr Rodriguez, we are here" the driver said, Eduardo raised his head and nodded.

Thank you, John," Eduardo replied, before turning his attention to Lisa. "We're here," he said, his green eyes glinting with amusement as he noticed the surprise on her face. "Come on"

Lisa hesitated for a moment, but then curiosity got the better of her and she got out of the car. Eduardo led her into the building and up the stairs to the second floor. As they walked, Lisa couldn't help but notice how elegant and stylish the interior was. The walls were painted a deep shade of red, and the furniture was modern and chic.

As Lisa stepped out of the car, she was struck by the elegance and majesty of the two-story building. The building was situated in the heart of Los Angeles, surrounded by bustling streets and towering skyscrapers. Despite its central location, the building exuded a sense of peace and tranquility.

The exterior of the building was grand and imposing, with tall pillars framing the entrance and intricate carvings adorning the walls. The building's facade was made of a gleaming white marble, which caught the sunlight and reflected it back in dazzling rays.

Lisa could see that the building was exquisitely designed, with attention paid to every detail. The windows were tall and elegant, with delicate panes of glass that glinted in the light. The door was made of solid oak, intricately carved with depictions of vines and leaves.

As Lisa stepped inside the building, she was greeted by a grand foyer, with high ceilings and gleaming marble floors. The walls were adorned with beautiful paintings and intricate tapestries, and there were comfortable chairs and couches for guests to relax on.

The building was filled with natural light, thanks to large windows that let the sunshine pour in. The decor was elegant and sophisticated, with a mix of classic and modern styles. Lisa couldn't help but feel awed by the sheer grandeur of the building, it was like nothing she had ever seen before.

They entered a spacious room with floor-to-ceiling windows that provided a stunning view of the city. There was a large wooden desk in the center of the room, with a laptop and a few papers scattered on top. Eduardo gestured for Lisa to take a seat on one of the sleek, white chairs that were arranged around the desk.

"So, why am I here?" Lisa asked, her voice laced with suspicion.

Eduardo sat down in the chair opposite her and leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. "I am sorry for what happened earlier today" he said, his tone serious.

When she didn't reply, Eduardo got up and walked to the office shelf and pulled out a small black trash bag.

"When you left, I couldn't follow you, so I had someone do it and they found this,  he handed it to her and urged her to open it, which she did almost immediately.

All the stuff she had lost, her phone, pause and a small photograph of her dad, she didn't know how to feel, did he do this for her to forgive him?

As if reading her thoughts he spoke up

"No, I didn't, losing your things is not always easy, especially in your situation"
