Melissa's POV

My body trembled as his hand held my neck. I fumbled some words out of my lips. “Th… this is… wrong,” I stammered.

“Wrong?” his voice echoed, and his lips pulled so close to my ear, caressing the skin. “That has never held you back before.”

“Piss off, you piece of…”

His choke on my neck tightened, and I couldn't breathe. “I have warned you to watch your language with me. I won't repeat it again.”

I gasped, panting for air and felt my face burn up until he released. I sucked in large chunks of breath and coughed.

He was crazy. My face remained turned to the other side, fallen from his while I swallowed as much air as I could.

“If you weren't so…” I began, raising my face, but he came closer, smirking as he taunted me.

“What? If I wasn't so what? Handsome?”

“Don't flatter yourself. You're not the only man on the planet.”

“But you can't move on, can you?” he asked, and I gritted my teeth.

“You think too highly of yourself,” I lashed out, my voice managing a whisper.

Dwayne's POVShe slowly reached down and picked them up, her eyes staring in horror at them.I watched her, taking in her expression.Yes, I had done some digging ever since I found out I was Mr. Wilson's biological son. I traced our old home to find out truths and asked a lot of questions. Maybe even had someone spy on Shane when he went on a business trip. They weren’t able to report everything he did because he was smart and avoided tracks as if he knew he was being followed, but I found something else. And I was going to get to the bottom of it.Her eyes turned red, and her body shook as she looked at me. I rested my voice and spoke calmly. “What are you hiding from me?”Her voice cracked, then broke. “I don’t have anything to hide from you.”“Then you don’t mind explaining why my hospital records are missing, Mother?” I asked. Her eyes confirmed what I knew. She was lying.“Should I refresh your memory? You stalked Shane’s mother and worked as a nurse in the same hospital,” I sta

Dwayne's POVI sat on the couch scrolling through my phone when my mother walked in. She sighed, paced, and walked again to make sure I noticed her. I did, but I wasn't ready to say a word.“How long are you going to remain like this?” she asked.I kept quiet and focused on my phone. The Candy Crush level was hard to win, and I needed to focus.I heard her steps draw closer, and the next thing I knew, the phone was snatched from my hand. “Did you hear me?”“Loud and clear,” I answered.“Why didn’t you respond to me?”I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head. “Don’t I have the right to?”“What’s gotten into you?” she asked, her eyes widening.“Nothing. Now, can I have my phone back?” I said, stretching my palm out. “Please.”“Not until you tell me why you are acting different,” she muttered.“Are you asking because you want to know or because you chose to be deaf to all I have been saying to you?”A hard smack on the cheek sent my face down, and my hand found the spot she hit. I raise

Lucy’s POVThe first thing I noticed when I walked into the studio was the lady in front sitter on the stool while the makeup artist did her face. From her side profile, I could tell who it was. When she stood up, and turned to leave, her eyes landed on mine and for a split second I could see the fear in her eyes. “Mra, Lucy,” one of the stylists called and I smiled, moving my attention to her. “Yes,” I answered, walking forward as the woman gestured for me to sit in the chair before her. Melissa walks off, and I knew she was scared I would eat her out. Well, I had no intentions to. I still longed for our friendship even if I was very angry. But something kept bugging me. The way he easily switched from a good friend that protected me to a different overnight kept me on my toes. I was worried for her. Could it be that she was blackmailed into doing it? The makeup artist got to work. One styling my hair and the other fixing my makeup. My makeup was light with a thick eyeliner lik

Melissa's POVOur clothes began to slip away from our bodies and mid-point with his shirt under my gown, the cold air hit my skin making me shiver. I was utterly lost and primed for him, waiting with anticipation for his hands to continue their tasking when he stopped.I believed he was teasing me, only drawing it out to make me plead. Then he shoved me away, his gaze darting back from that deep need to something mysterious, almost happy he had played me. "What are you—?" I gasped, still struggling to breathe. My chest ached, my body was screaming for him, and he was moving away.He stood, buttoning his shirt with infuriating composure while I sat red and trembling with shame."Dwayne!" I cried, my hands clenched around the rips of my own dress. "Don't you dare turn your back on me now."His smile cut deeper than any blade. "We'll meet again, darling." He straightened his collar, as if nothing had ever happened. "And when we do… maybe I'll let you finish what you started.""Finish—?

Melissa's POVDwayne's laughter cut through the quiet like crashing glass. It was low, free and sarcastically amused.I opened one eye, and then the other, shivering, to find him slouched back in his chair, his shoulders heaving, with his hand pressed over his mouth to keep himself in check."You…" he laughed with choking breath, "you really thought I was going to kill you?"My breast pounded and dropped hard. He smiled too damn smug."You should've seen your face," he continued, raising his glass in my direction. "You looked like a rabbit trapped in a corner. Priceless."I could feel the flush rising into my cheeks and my shame flowering into rage. "You're sick!" I shouted, my voice cracking. "Do you think this is funny? You bother me…"Melissa." He spoke in a soothing voice, as though trying to calm a child who was throwing a tantrum."No!" My tone cracked on a slightly higher note. "Don't even think about it! You just sit there with your stupid rolled-up sleeves and your stupid arr
