“You came back earlier than expected.” I heard George speak as soon as I opened the door.

“The triplets had something else to do so they left early. It was just me and Maya left so we didn’t spend much time at the bar.”

“Hmm.” He eyed me warily. “Are you drunk?”

I shook my head, smiling. “Not at all.”

He walked up to me and took the bags from my hand. “Why didn’t you call me to come help you downstairs?”

“I’m here, aren’t I?” I chuckled before properly looking at him. He was still dressed in his work attire. “Are you just coming back from work?”

He nodded, leaning down to kiss me shortly. “There was no use coming back when you wouldn’t be home.” I shook my head and followed him as he carried the shopping bags to our room. “Can I see them?”
