99. Girls day out

When we got into the store, we made our way to the clothing section first. We browsed through the racks of clothes, trying to find what we liked.

“I’m sorry about your pregnancy.” Emery sympathized with me, her eyes focused on my flat stomach. I wasn’t expecting it but it was normal because everyone would notice I wasn’t with a baby anymore. I was supposed to be showing by now.

Flashing an awkward smile, I responded. “Thank you I guess.”

“I’m sorry we didn’t come to visit you when it happened.” Evelyn chimed in and I shot her a weak smile.

“It’s okay. At least you guys are here now.” I said, trying my best not to show how uncomfortable I was with the conversation.

I didn’t even need any sympathy visit from them or anybody. I didn’t even see my sister and mum for over a week when it happened.

I didn’t want the happy mood to change with them reminding me of what I lost. I was trying to move on from the situation and accept my fate.
