"This way." Hades led Doll away from the hotel and casually headed back the way they came.

If there was an ambush waiting at the hotel room as Lexi's sigil indicated, the best course of action was to get Doll as far away from this town as possible. What they needed was a head start, something Lexi had given them with that sigil meant for Hades’s eyes only.

Hades didn’t want to waste the advantage they’d been given, but there was no time to prepare. It would be fatal to go get his beloved car from the valet parking lot. No, they needed something else. Something unpredictable.

The answer came as they stopped at an intersection. Hades could see a bus coming in the distance. "We're going to get on here. It's not the greatest way of traveling, I know, but it won't be long."
