Chapter 24

Celeste sat on the chair next to the dining table while Brandon went into the kitchen to fetch a drink for her. Although he had a vague idea of what she wanted to say, Brandon could see that she was still contemplating her own decision.

"If you're not feeling comfortable talking about it, you don't have to force yourself," Brandon said, putting a glass of orange juice in front of her. "It seemed you're still hurt."

"I have something to show you," Celeste replied, reaching for the bandage on her right arm.

She undid the bandage, revealing an arm covered in diamonds. She still couldn't control her power after overusing it, causing it to revert to diamonds every now and then. She undid the other bandage on her left arm and neck, showing the instability of her power.
