After I dismissed our waiter, a young waitress takes his place. She is definitely eyeing Avery but she isn’t inappropriate which is fine by me. You can look but don’t touch. The food is amazing just as Avery promised. It’s still too early for the movie but he parks our car at the drive in theatre and we walk to a nearby ice cream shop.

“So tell me, what was your favorite thing to do as a child?”

“Trying to know all my deep dark secrets Haley?”

“Absolutely,” I giggle.

“Well, my dad use to take me and Mason fishing up the river. We’d make a yearly camping trip out of it.”

“When was the last time you guys went?”

“It’s been a few years.”

“You and Mason should go. Don’t let traditions die with him, it’s a good way to keep his memory alive.”

“I’ll think about it. Now how about you?”

“Easy, play the violin. I love the emotion music can pull from someone and the sound of each note blending together to create a beautiful melody. My aunt taught me how to play.”

Just as Avery approaches Jake three of the wolves Mason and I were fighting change direction straight for Avery.
