ADRIANA ~~~ Nick drives as fast as he can to St. Martin hospital, while I clutch the seat tightly. The words of the nurse who called rings in my head repeatedly, making me wonder just how hurt Ryan is. Somewhere at the back of my mind, a tiny voice blames me for everything. Maybe if I hadn't cut off Ryan completely, this wouldn't have happened. I try not to dwell much on that voice, but it becomes so loud in my head, driving me to the point of screaming. Nick touches my hand suddenly, jerking me out of my thoughts. I look over at him, and that's when I realize that I'm gripping the arm of the seat tightly. "Are you okay?" He asks. His voice is tinged with worry, and even though he's trying not to show it, I know he's in a state of panic too. Ryan is his brother after all. Despite the enmity between them, it's obvious Nick cares for him. "I just feel guilty." I say softly. He takes my hand and lifts it to his lips. "You have no reason to feel guilty." "Oh but I do, Nick."
