SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN

It took us barely two minutes to reach Mitchel's house. Her house was a big white neat house just like the others in Malibu drive which from what I've noticed so far is the lane where all the people who had snobbish attitude and deep pockets stayed. It was a lane for the rich.

"Are you ready for our first high school party?" Foluke asked as we made our way through the maze of cars.

"Your first? How come?" I asked, " I thought you guys have been here for like forever?" I looked from her to Simi.

"Well, before you came, Mitchel had banned us from attending any school party." Bisola said and shrugged, " you can understand now why we desperately wanted to come. Sorry for dragging you into all of this."

I was dumbfounded.

How could one lean girl be so mean and nonchalant. What was she? A god? For the life of me, I'll never understand how this school operates.

"It's fine." I said, " at least we're attending one now. Doesn't matter, does it?" I tried to take away the gloominess that had suddenly taken over our group of four.

They gave me a quick nod as I rang the doorbell. It took exactly one minute for the door to open. Mitchel's eyes widened when she saw us.

Her raven hair was packed in a high pony. She gave me , foluke, Meredith and Simi a once over before plastering a big fake smile on her face as she said, "I'm so glad you could make it." She stepped aside and allowed us entry.

The entire hallway was packed with people, red and green plastic cups were thrown here and there and students where passed out on the couch.

Suddenly, Mitchel came in my line of view, her eyes sparkling as she pulled her heavily glossed lips into a smile. "I'm really glad you could make it, Emmy." She said in earnest. "I'm so glad you could get past our little disagreement, after all we are best of friends."

I opened my mouth to give her a polite speech about how I'd forgiven her, but the minute I saw her face plastered with a fake smile I burst out laughing, my speech going down the drain. And the worst part is I can't stop.

Each and everytime I I had my giggles under control, it took one lookat her face to make me start laughing again. Pretty soon, I had tears in my eyes. Finally, I looked up and gave her a nod.

Mitchel's face started to twitch from having that big fake smile on her face to giving me a curt nod. "If you're done now, we can go to the main party." She said walking away.

I raised my eyebrows at her and turned to search for my friends but couldn't find them so I followed her out of curiosity.

She led me through the staircase and into her room.

***************

"The truth and dare game is a legendary something in Greenville High school." A boy with blonde hair was saying, "it consist of only the most popular student in the school. Rumour has it that one of the power couples in the school had met over this some years ago. So if you're here, you're up for something."

"But I'm not popular." I said to no one in particular even as a girl shushed me.

"Nobody cares." The girl beside her said and the both of them burst out in giggles.

"So, Emmy, truth or dare?" Mitchel asked me.

I met her blue eyes which where sparkling with mischief and said, "why me?"

"Oh please, must you always be a bore?" She sat opposite me with her arms around Alain. Next to her sat kelly and her boyfriend, both from my class, and next to me sat Anna who was busy staring daggers at Mitchel who seemed unaffected.

"Rules of the game lest I forget. No one is permitted to opt out of the game. If you are dared, you are to do exactly as dared. Truth or dare Emmy?" She asked again.

I looked at her and said, "truth."

"When and where did you have your first kiss?" She said smirking.

"I've never been kissed."

Everyone gasped. What's so weird about not being kissed?

"Fine." Mitchel said, "Now for the dare part."

"Wait. Don't I get to choose the dare? Or aren't you supposed to ask someone else?"

"You see," she started, "that's the twist to this game. You have to do both."

"I see."

"I want you to do the seven minutes in heaven."

"What's that?" I asked.

"Aren't you so naive?" She said and cupped my jaw, "well, in this part, you get to kiss the hottest guy in the room blindfolded, and after that, your blinds would be removed so you can see whom you made out with. Ain't that cool? Considering you've never been kissed."

"Do I really have to do it? I can't just kiss some random guy because of a silly stupid game."

"You remember the rules, don't you?" She said giving me a look that spelled, don't dare me.

"I didn't know this part would be involved, and you cornered me into this!"

"Now you know." She said and the whole table snickered.

"Quit being a kid." A guy said.

"You should be lucky you get to kiss the hottest guy in here." A girl added.

"You're spoiling the funnn!" Another stressed.

"Okay, okay, okay." I raised my hands, "I'll do it."

The entire room grew quiet. Silently, she blindfolded my eyes and led me into another room. In my heart of hearts, I prayed these people where not secretly planing my death. I heard the door close and the lock turned. I began fidgeting.

And then I heard silent footsteps.

"Please, don't kill me. I'll do anything you want. I promise. I'll even quit if that's what you want." I ranted. I expected my death to be slow and painful but what I didn't expect was the way my body grew cold as a sweet soft lips enclosed mine. Immediately, I melted against him. It was like I was expecting this. Like there was some connection between us

From the way my tummy fluttered, to the way I shivered in the very tight, hot room. I kissed him back with ardent passion. It was when his hands began exploring I snapped out of my little session. As if on cue, the door burst open and I heard snickers.

"What the fuck happened here? What are you doing here?" That was Mitchel's voice.

"Can you atleast untie this so I can see." Eager to have a glimpse of who possessed such soft firm lips I'd just kissed.

"Sorry." She atleast had the decency to say before untying the folds.

The eyes that stared back at me made me want to wee in my pants. I know I said Alain was hot. But this guy right in front of me was way more hotter. Like super hot. He was strikingly beautiful.

"You weren't supposed to be in there!" She yelled turning real red, "im talking to you fucking Raynard storm wind!!"

The guy Mitchel had just called Raynard was another version of the greek god, Apollo's. Don't ask me how I Know, I just know.

He had a chiseled face, his lips begged to be kissed again and his hair looked like he'd just run his hand through it. He was breathtakingly handsome.

"I wasn't supposed to be here, but I am." He said facing Mitchel, "what can you do about that?"

If looks could kill, Mitchel's would have. The way both of them stared at each was like they had history. He matched her stares with his, unwilling to back down. And for the first time, since I met Mitchel, I saw her guard drop.

She turned to Alain and said, "you didn't tell me he was in town."

"I didn't know either." Alaine shrugged staring daggers at me.

What did I do wrong?

"You wanna take a walk with me?" Raynard asked turning to face me.

I pursed my lips and took everybody's look into consideration and decided that I couldn't stay here for a moment later, "sure," I said.

The moment my feet stepped on the front porch, I remembered that I came to this insane place with people. Three ditchers at that.

"Uhrrm, my friends are waiting out back for me." I said fidgeting.

His lips curved into a smile as he said, "sure, I just thought you'd love to spend some time with me considering how it looked like you where drooling."

"I wasn't." I lied, embarrassed at the fact that he had caught me staring.

"You were. Two seconds ago you looked like you could eat me. It's no surprise tho, I have that effect on girls. Besides, your friends could always leave without you. You should be jumping on two feet that I'm trying to be with you. You know what other girls would give for that?"

"Do I look like the other girls?" I asked annoyed, " you're such a pathetic joker."

"At first, they're always feisty but after one night, they begin to mellow down"

"Each and everyone of you in this school have a problem that doctors must have failed to notice." I said and marched off.

I went out through the hallway and found my friends passed out on the couch. I decided to leave them there as a payback for ditching me earlier on. I sighed and shook my head as I made my way home. My first high school party and it was nothing to write home about. Maybe except Ray.
