PROLOGUE

SELENE

“Selene, you are the Goddess of the moon, your role is to rule your kind, there is no need for you to go down there. You can see what they are doing down there.” Serene didn’t understand, being a God sometimes we missed the most important things. We think we know what our subjects want but until we walk in their shoes, we would never know.

“You don’t get it Serene, and I don’t think you ever will. You and I will never understand some of the things our children do until we walk in their shoes and experience them ourselves. Only then will we understand what they go through and why they pray for the things they pray for. I want to go there and learn.”

My sister just shook her head, she didn’t agree with what I wanted to do, she was against it. I thought she would understand and support me. Her children, the vampires and mine the werewolves were sworn enemies. Me going to earth was going to help us both.

Create a better world for our children, one filled with peace. But we would never achieve that until one of us goes down there. I took the herb she was going to use to take my soul out of my body and send me to earth.

I handed it to her. “Let’s go.” Serene opened her mouth to protest but I smiled at her reassuringly. “I hope you don’t regret this, Selene.” I said nothing. I walked into the ceremony room where I created new souls.

Today it was my soul that was going to be sent to earth, to learn about my children, their needs, their actual needs and find ways to be a better ruler. Staying in the realm and keep making souls was not going to help with anything.

Wars continued and many of them were dying. I needed it to stop. I laid on the ceremonial table. “What will happen to your children when you leave the realm unattended?” Serene was worried I could tell.

“I won’t be long, just a couple of years there will be enough, and I will be back.” She stared at me. “You just told me that you might not remember who you are when you get there, just like them when they are born.”

I shook my head; my situation was different. “I will not be born out of humans or my children. Just follow my instructions and I will take care of the rest.” My sister sighed. She and I got along just fine. i didnt understand why our children hated each other so much.

That was another reason why I was going to Earth, to understand these things so Serene and I could help fix it. It was not nice for us to see then slaughter each other like that. I smiled at her. "I will be alright Serene. She did as told. The last thing I saw was the worried look on my sisters face before the nightmare began.
