I slowly started to come to consciousness again at the sound of my mother's voice. My mother wasn't talking to me, but I definitely heard my mom somewhere in the room near me. I struggled against the pain in my head to open my eyes and focus. I did manage it after a few moments and then I tried to call to my mother to get her attention.
