MasukThird person's pov For the past few days this was how it was. Her moving through the shadows with purpose, measured steps and her expression carefully composed. She stopped outside a barrier chamber just beneath the council wing. The beta's room. For a moment she hesitated before she knocked and then the door opened almost immediately as if he had been waiting for her. “You" a calm surprise flickering briefly across his face. “You shouldn't be here now" he brought his head out of the room. “I have something, something that could help us" Rowan growled at her before pulling her into his chambers and locking the door behind him. " Make this quick” he leaned back against a table, arms crossed. Lila glanced at his shoulders, they were broader than Kallum's, less imposing in presence but sharper. She shook her head to shake the thoughts out of her head. “I met a witch" she informed "and I got something we could use” “This witch, can she be trusted or you just.. “I
Killian's pov I was going to sleep in the guest room tonight but that didn't bother me the way my temper did. Figure out how best to control it and learn not to let it take over me even for a second. Maybe I should have not spoken anything to her regardless of the fact that I could not sit and watch how they were all being so careful when there was nothing to be careful about what was going on. I didn't usually drink any of the beers or wine in the bar but tonight, I was out in the garden, same spot the dark witch lured me, sipping a glass of white wine, not that I enjoyed it but because it strangely helped me focus on thoughts such as the one going in my head right now to stay. Ayla would think I was jealous, which I was but got over after some hours. And now, discussing wolf hunters and blood. I hated how she was trying to make exceptions for him, some kind of redemption for someone that dangerous. So what if he was her ex, so what if she knew him. I knew Kallum and K
Ayla's pov. My phone rang without any answer, I dialed again and there was suddenly no service. I paced around the living room, where Ivy and Clara sat far apart and Killian sat comfortably and nonchalantly on the couch. “I can't reach him" I turn to Ivy, also avoiding Killian's gaze. “Try again," Ivy said. Clara rose up and stretched out the phone towards me. “Or try with another number" she suggested. I took the phone and dialed his number, the call went straight to voicemail, and I streaked my hands into my hair. "He's not reachable either” I couldn't tell what might be going on in Aiden's head right now, what he was going to do with this 6. If ever I wanted him to know the truth, it wasn't like this, never like this. “Arghhh” I let out. Clara rubbed her temples. “What do you think might have happened to him?” Anxiety laced in her tone. " He's probably in a pharmacy treating his self-inflicted wound." I heard Killain’s lazy voice from the other side of the living room. I
Third person's pov Aiden didn't remember deciding to leave but then one moment he was standing in the doorway, the echo of Elara's pain still ringing in his ears, the way she flinched and the next he was in his car, hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned pale and his bleeding arm pumped more blood than before. He was happy for a moment that at least she didn't think twice before running to him but then, the scene of what he had done to her. It made his heart ache. His chest felt wrong, too tight, too loud and every breath he took scraped his lungs. The way she recoiled from him, the way her new man quickly moved between them and the way Elara looked at his blood like it was a weapon. Thought it was what he had come to confirm. This was the truth and the truth lingered in his brain before settling into his thoughts. If his blood burned Elara like that then it could only mean one thing. She wasn't human and there was some truth in what his mot
Ayla's pov It had been minutes since Aiden left. He didn't turn on the bedroom lights, only pulled the drapes low enough so the light from outside seeped in. I tried not to focus on anything other than the act of being perfectly still. I took deep breaths, letting my grip rest on the edge of the bed. My bare feet pressed against the cold tiles as I curled my fingers around the edge each time the wound stinged. Killian hadn't said a word since Aiden left, he only brought the first aid box, crouched beside me and used the wool and antiseptic to dab at my affected skin. He cleaned it and rinsed it a couple of times before finally dressing it with a bandage, he focused on how perfectly the band was supposed to wrap around my hand and when I winced he paused and started wrapping it all over again. “Are you mad at me?” I asked in a low voice. He cut off the excess bandage on the wound, before he said finally. “That you threw yourself without thinking to save him?” he forced a smile
Ayla's pov Taking the stairs, I felt relieved that Killian was in the shower now because now, I was sure I knew who was at the door. I knew that scent anywhere and of course the fact that I was expecting him a few moments from now. I wrapped my robes tighter as I made my way towards the front door. Placing my hand on the door knob, determined to make this interaction quick. “Aiden." I said as I opened the door to find him casually dressed in jeans and a round necked shirt. Very rare of him. He turned to me, his expression blank. "Elara.” He said as well and for a few seconds we stood staring at each other until he cleared his throat. “Am I allowed in?" I wasn't so sure but I pushed the door farther apart as an invitation.“Yeah, sure" He did tell Clara he just wanted to see me and hopefully I would get him out before Killian comes out. Aiden took long steps into the house, I watched his eyes and how he scanned everything and everywhere, I couldn't remember the last time h
